I'm on a preop diet and have lost almost 100 lbs, yet I'm still wearing the same size clothes! Granted, they are a bit loose, but not falling off me like you think they would after losing the equivalent of a teenaged person. I think that's why I don't feel like I've lost very much weight, even though my bariatric counselor disagrees with me. Also, I notice my fat seems to be coming off unevenly -- my right side seems to be hanging more than my left side. How embarrassing! Kix

I understand what you are saying. I have lost 127 lbs and my pre-op clothes are not falling off me. They are big, but I can still wear them. Of course,I can wear smaller clothes, but nothing I have has been so huge that I had to stop wearing them yet. Just knowing that I can buy smaller clothes and they are not tight helps me. I often do not feel like i have lost much, but I have. You have too. I recently put together a slideshow of my pics as I have lost weight and that is really an eye opener as well. Let me just say that you should be proud of the progress you are making. Keep in mind that everyone's body loses in a different way. I know it can be discouraging when your body does not lose weight evenly, but know that where you are not losing will eventually catch up and the differences will not be as noticeable. For me, I have lost quite a bit from my waist up and my tummy still hangs quite low and I look out of proportion, but I feel it is just what I need to deal with for now. It is not a permanent thing. Look inside yourself and see the beautiful person that is there waiting to come out. Everyone says it is what is inside that matters and it is. Unfortunately sometimes in bigger people, the physical beauty they have is hidden. You are going through a transformation and in the end you will see that everything will be ok. I hope I helped you. Have a great day! Take care Erin

WOW, 100 lbs!!! That is amazing!! You are an inspiration hon, big time! Got to ask, do you at least feel better? You may not be seeing it in your clothes but if you are feeling better that could be a good barometer. Totally impressed!

you're doing wonderfully. i understand, though, what you're saying about the same clothes. it took way more than 100 lbs before i got out of my starting clothes. then i dropped a couple sizes. then i plateaued, then i dropped a couple sizes. it seems to go in leaps and jerks. (as long as it goes). keep up the great work, kix. it's not easy, but it's so worth it. dorthe

Kix, I wore my size 32 clothes for 6 months after surgery. They were loose, but not falling off. Then I bought some size 20s, thinking "someday they will fit" and they were waaaaaaaay to big. All of a sudden, I was an 18 (and only that because of my belly, they were too big in the legs). Then, a couple months later, I bought a pair of suede pants in a size 11. Well, taht was an anomoly, because I am not 11, but since they fit, I had no problem spending $285 on them . Now, I am generally a 14. So, eventually, it jsut happens all at once. Pretty amazing!
