Is PS a given for SMO
Hey Lurnia,
I am hoping that plastic surgery isnt in my future either concidering how unreal priced it is but...... I also have insurance with bcbs and im sure they wont be happy to pay even though I havent checked into that. May not even pay anyway, who knows?? But I can say with me almost five months out and lost from 397 to 285 today that ugh!! My legs at the top on the way down look like an acordian lol... And my belly button seems to have turned into play dough and wants to move somewhere else but cant seem to make its mind up where it wants to be lol. And the boobies seem to want to follow the belly button lol...And lets not get started on the wings hanging from the bottom of my arms lol. Here it is hurricane season now and I am starting to worry that ill take off any time from the wind lol.. The only thing that does look ok to me is my face. Finally I dont look like a walking ballon ready to pop! So I know this isnt an answer to your question but I can say if could afford it and maybe one day seems I could benefit from plastic surgery.
Hugs from a sharpee... Marge
WOW! You've lost 112 pounds in 5 months, I'm impressed. BCBS does pay for plastic sometimes. One of my co-worker is getting ready to go out to have her extra skin removed. I know I couldn't afford to pay for it on my own and was hoping I didn't need it. Realistically my thighs are horrible and my stomach. I could probably get away with my arms and my legs are muscular more so than fat. First things first, I still have to just make it through the surgery. Thanks for the visuals lol. Lurnia
greetings lurnia
i know my skin surely is NOT toning up! i started at 463, down to 207 now, and i have skin hanging everywhere! i do think that age probably plays a role in skin elasticity -- i'm 49. if you're considerably younger, you'll probably have a better result than i. i'd like to get plastics, but have no idea how i'd ever pay for it, so it may not happen. and if it never does, i'm SO much better off, and happier now -- even with sharpei skin -- than i was before; i can live with it!
best to you.
deb
You're correct, we're much better off with the weight off even if the skin doesn't go away. I'm not much younger than you, i'll be 43 on 7/13 so I don't think my chances are so great. I'm praying insurance will pay as they are currently getting ready to pay for a co-worker, but you know insurance plans can change from year to year. I'm allergic to pain (LOL) and was hoping after 7/5 I will not have to have anymore.
thanks.
Lurnia
I know what ya mean Deb. My thong days are way behind me. Never did it before so cant say id miss what I never done.Ill be 46 on the 26th of July or I tell my twin that she will be lol... I am to happy to be healthier to and getting some of this weight off me. Im also impressed... You knew how to spell sharpee lol.....
Hugs Marge
Hi Lurnia!
I've lost 150 lbs. I exercise about 90 minutes a day and have done so for about 9 months. I have sagging skin in my abdomen and legs, but, not nearly as bad as other patients who lost weight faster than me. I really think all the water and exercise has helped. But, I still want to lose 40+ more lbs, don't know how I'll ever afford plastics, so I am probably just going to have to be content with where I end up. I feel so much better and that is the real pay off....it is hard (I'm a widow) to imagine ever getting naked again with a new man.

I started at 297 and only a few months out but I can see the skin at the top of my thighs and my arms. I workout everyday and lift weights I'm hoping like hell it firms up some. I just turned 30 in May so I'm not sure how that will play into things. It motivates me when I sit on the weight machines and see my legs in the mirror. It's like this flappy part up top and I just want it GONE!! I exercise my butt off..literally just to see results so keep your fingers crossed for me..!!
GOOOD LUCK with your surgery!! You'll be in my thoughts and there's a spot for you right here on the losers bench!!
GREAT BIG HUGS,
Jamie
