August 6th is my WLS Date

Yesterday seems like moutains moved... Dr. Lauters office called to inform me that they received the insurance approval and then went on to set my wls date. I am very happy that my patience although tested for over a year of pre surgery proceedures has finally unfolded into a blessing. I feel like a load has been removed off my shoulder. It is like a large tax refund at the end of a hard year of work! I think I would be more excited if I was not is such pain in my lower back and hip. I called my family and told them the good news. And now I share my news here on the boards I quietly read everyday. Thank you for taking the time to read of my joyful news! Hugs, Aunt Pam

Hi Pam, Congradulations on finally getting your surgery date!!!! That is so great!!!! Sorry about your back problems. I just went to a chropracter(sp?) for the very first time on Thursday. Pain is a really hard thing to describe to somebody. I can pin-point the time in which my back and shoulders began to give me trouble..Nov. 23rd 2005..my surgery date!! I thought the pain was just the meds working their way through my bod..but the doc says that I am totally out of alinment because of my "quick???" weight loss..almost 100 in 7 months. Truly, most people's back does get better after wls..it's just..I like to go against the grain a bit in everything I do. Ginger, My back is worse. I think it is because I've lost the weight from my back, but, still have big breasts and a belly so more stress is put on my back. I work it in the gym, hopefully it will subside at some point! Lori
