I'm Back... Need Prayers!

My bout of cellulitis decided to turn ugly last Thursday, so off I went to the ER. After six hours waiting in the ER, they decided to admit me for IV antibiotics. I finally got out of the hospital today and will now be on at least two weeks of home IV. Not only that, I have wound drainage, too (ugh!). I'm worried that this infection might not clear up in time for my August 14th surgery date. The doctor can't promise anything, but he thinks we have plenty of time to fight it. Thing is, last time I had to go on IV drugs, I was on them for three months. I'd appreciate it if folks would pray, hum, or send up a good word for me that everything clears up in time for my surgery. Kix

((((((Kix)))))) I'm so sorry you are having trouble with cellilitus. Are you home alone on the IV??? After my wls, I had an incisional wound infection so I know what you are talking about. I went to the wound center at least twice a week to get pictures taken and have my incisions evaluated by a doc. Even though I wasn't home much by myself, I had a home care nurse come 3 times a week to check my vitals and change my dressing. I often felt like I could had taken care of my wound myself..but I couldn't. I wasn't objective enough to see if everything was a'ok. If your insurance allows it, I would request a home care nurse and/or a wound vac. This devise sucions air continuously through a little tube from your incision to a resovour in this suitcase type box. It wasn't exactly a joy to tug around with me....but it healed the wound much quicker than it normally would do on it's own. My thoughts and prayers are with you Kix, I'm sure all will be clear come August 14th. Hugs and hang in there, Ginger

OH Kix!!!!! I know your pain and it's awful. Perhaps you caught this in time and it won't take as long to clear up. Tell them give you the good stuff and kick it up a notch. Also... try not to get too stressed out over it clearing up on time. The stress will keep you from healing as well as you could. I know it's easier said than done but please try to concentrate on getting well and not so much about the dates.] You are one of the strongest people I've ever met on OH and I know you can get thru this.. You've already beaten incredible odds and overcame so much. Hang in there and know you've got all your smo buddies right there with ya sending good vibes
