What is your favorite WOW moment?

I haven't been able to exercise lately because I'm recovering from my cellulitis flare-up. The stupid PICC line in my arm prevents me from doing any exercises that strain my arm, so this means I can't do my daily armbike exercises. I've been doing some walking, but I can't do enough to make it feel like real exercise. It does keep me moving, though. While I'm recouperating, I'm working hard to focus on positive things rather than just thinking about my leg all day! I have had many WOW moments since losing 125 lbs prior to my WLS, and it got me to thinking about everyone else here. This might sound odd, but for me, my favorite WOW moment so far is that I can now fit in my sister's small car and can go on short adventures without having to bring along the wheelchair. I look forward to even more outstanding WOW moments once I have surgery in August. During your weight loss journey, which WOW moment is your favorite? Or, do you have so many wonderful WOW moments, you can't single out just one? Kix

My favorite WOW moment so far would have to be having my kids sit on my lap. I have never had a lap. When they were babies they always sat on my belly because I truly only had about 2 inches of space between my stomach and the end of my knee. What a wonderful thing to find that I have a lap. Keep thinking of the good things Ps I understand and hate when my cellulitis starts up and I am so sorry for what you have gone through. Good luck on your journey, jennifer 361 / 228 / 175ish almost 9 months post-op

Howdy Kix, First off let me now tell you what an inspiration you are to all of us. I cant think of anyone more deserving of this surgery. You have done so much in all respects to get this WLS down pat. And look at the weight you have lost and havent even had it yet. You are a true rebel girl!!! Think how you will be kicking butt after surgery and will be already on the right road and have been for a while now. So hats off to you for sure.... Well now on to the post question lol.... I would have to say that I dont have one WOW moment in memory that sets out above the rest. I have small ones alot here lately but just wanting to get out of bed in the morning instead of feeling like death all the time is the most reward there is here. I had just about given up of ever living a normal human life. I have been like 400lbs for as many years as can remember. My grown kids dont even know what a healthy moma would be. So im most grateful that my grandkids will though.I have one daughter left thats not married but is engaged and next July in Texas we are having the wedding. And this is the baby daughter and I want to know what its like to walk into the wedding actually looking like the brides mother instead of a very unhealthy huge person that people look at and feel sorry for because she just can walk or breath. And had to settle for a normal old people looking dress that costed way to much and was not flattering what so ever. So yes, theres alot of WOW moments to come and im ready to take them head on.... Ok... Getting my fat short legs down from the soap box lol... Hugs Marge

Hey kix i have about 10 favorite wow moments....they all have to do with fitting into seats that i couldn't fit into before surgery (i.e. booths at resturants, and movie theater, and those fast food booths which they always make extra small..i can get into all of them now). But my all time favorite wow moment is when my wife pointed to some guy who was overweight ...but not huge, and said, "you see that guy over there, you use to be 3 times bigger then him, but now your smaller then him". She said it low so only I could hear her, but i'm always asking her to point out people that are my size, because to be honest I really have no concept of my size right now. I held up my underwear today I just bought size 2 x underwear down from 6x. I held them up and looked at them like "will they fit???" Of couse they did, i'm now a 2x...but they look so small my mind still can't grasp it. scott

Kix, For me that is an easy one......riding roller coasters! That was my reason for getting the surgery. I wanted so badly to ride every ride at every amusement park and had not done it for 15+ years. And it is great! Also, I can buy regular clothes at Macy's. At the Macy's in my town, they have all teh clothes (mens, womens and kids), jewelry, purses, shoes and make-up on the first floor, and on the second floor they have the sheets, blenders, pots and pans, and plus clothes in the back corner, so it is really nice not having to go up there! I weigh 230-235 now, and I am very happy with that. I am a size 16, big, like I wanted to be. I don't ever want to be "thin," and I am thrilled at this weight. And, last week, a stranger at Dunkin' Donuts told me he loved my curves. Pretty cool. Good luck with all of your wow moments.
