Friday, I started weight training. I did tweleve reps on each of the eight machines I can use. There are two I can't use because they're too advanced (they involve being able to pull your knees to your chest while holding all your weight on your arms). There are two I can't use because my gut interferes (they're for the leg exercises where you open your knees and push the weight out and close your knees and bring the weights in). I can lift 90 pounds with my legs (no shock, given how much I used to haul around) and back. I set the other machines at 50-60 pounds. I'm still kind or sore. After my weights circuit, I swam half a mile, did 100 crunches and did leg exercises that mimic the machines I can't use. Saturday, I was very sore. I did some shopping, some more shopping, and went out to a bar to hear my friend's husband's band. Today, I swam half a mile, did 100 crunches, and 200 leg exercises. Then I did a mini water aerobics session for another half an hour. I had my six-month visit with my surgeon. I'lve lost 172 pounds since May, 2005 (131 since surgery). So I'm under 400 pounds. Yay

Rebecca, Work up slowly with the weight training. I'm very happy you are doing it though. It takes a long time to see results, but, once you do, you will know you did the right thing! Good for you on the weight loss!!!!! Lori

Saturday, I did an hour of intense step aerobics with Gin Miller. Had my step at the highest level. I needed yesterday to recover because the ol' knees were sore as a result.

Boy do I understand the sore knees when you overdo it. I had a couple of very sore knee days at the end of last week. I've had an easier weekend to try and let them repair a bit. I have done some stair stepping stuff, but, certainly not an hour...you are doing great! Lori
