Arm Bike Excercise?

Do you really get a good workout using the arm bike? what kind of routine should you use? meaning, length of time. Will I lose weight using it?

Michelle, I use the arm bike in both my physical therapy treatment (for my back) and my strength building workout. My phys therapist has me doing 10 minutes ... 5 minutes *pushing* forward and then 5 minutes *pulling* it backward ... so that it will work my whole upper arm and upper back. Because my back is giving me trouble again, the setting has been reduced to 90, but when I'm back doing strength building it will be returned to 120. Just be sure that you're not sitting so far back from it that it torques your torso when you turn it ... the idea is to sit just close enough that it extends your arm but doesn't really turn your body too much.
