A new WOW moment ... I got a "sorta" job!!!
Most of you know I've been fighting a degenerative spine problem for about the last two decades ... and for the last 4 years I've been on total disability ... a complete disappointment for me after having a 32 year job. It just got to where I couldn't concentrate on anything but being in pain, and I was so large no surgeon (in my area) was willing to tackle a second, more intense back surgery for me.
I still fight back pain, but things are so much better now with 200+ lbs off my frame. So ... I got a *sorta* job!!! It's just as a filler-inner for a local investment office, on an on-call basis. I probably won't be called all that often nor will I make NEAR what I used to make per hour ... but it will give me the opportunity to see if I *can* sit at a desk for more 8 hours and not impact my back further and help me get some perspective on whether I'm any closer to being able to return to a more defined work schedule. It's definitely a first step for me to get back to feeling more like a productive person again ... and trust me ... trying to pay bills on a disability income isn't all that easy. So everyone please keep fingers crossed for this to work out, ok?
(((hugs to all)))
