I had my Optifast checkup yesterday and had gained three pounds! How in the heck does one gain weight on Optifast? I think it's because I'm a slow burner and without the exercise component, I don't burn any calories. I have also been lax about drinking the appropriate amount of water this week. This made me very grumpy, and on the way home from clinic yesterday, I was trying to figure out how to incorporate exercise into my life while I'm on armbike probation due to my PICC line. It dawned on me that my armbike has a power assist that makes the bike easier to pedal if you have weak muscles. What I did today was use the power assist on my armbike to do my armbike routine with my healthy arm while keeping the arm with the PICC line safely out of the way. Hooray! I did a mile on the armbike, but I wonder if it only counts as a half-mile since I only used one arm? It wasn't quite as aerobic as I'm used to since I had to use the power assist, but at least it's exercise! Kix PS to Lorraine: Your new picture looks great!

Kix, Good for you! You are doing so great! Hey, that 3 lbs is probably not fat...how can it be? Once you do have your surgery, don't expect the miraculous weight loss right away since you've lost so much pre-op. I'm just so happy for you! Lori

Hi Lori, I walked one mile around the neighborhood (wanted to do two but it got too dark to do my second mile...we went to the movies and got home so late) I also did two miles on my gazelle. Diana PS Yes I had movie popcorn.

Be careful with that walking when it is dark. What movie did you see? Lori

Hi Lori, Hubby wanted to see Miami Vice. It was good...but the popcorn was great. LOL I wasn't happy when I saw the scale this morning. I know eating popcorn will make me gain weight and then I have to work hard all week to get it back down. I've been between 169 and 171 all week (8 days) and this morning it said 173. Grrrrrrr!!!! Why do I do that to myself. Why can't I say no to movie popcorn. Hubby can pop it at home and I don't give it a second look. Thanks for listening. Hope your having a good weekend Diana

40 minute cardio dance tape followed by a 30 minute pilates class to tone the midsection. The first time I did pilates, I hated it and swore to never do it again, but I am actually starting to like it! You really feel the ab work and it's a nice change from traditional crunches.
