When I was 30/32 and 26/28 I thought it was very difficult to find cute clothes and I kept thinking when I lose weight it will be easier...IT'S NOT!! I've been on Ebay until my eyes hurt. I keep going back and forth between Avenue, Lane Bryant, and Fashion Bug. My problem...NONE of these stores are located here in the islands so I'm not sure which size to buy. I do hit up Ross as much as possible but it's slim pickin's there. I'm just so frustrated and can't believe my closet looks as empty now as before WLS! I always joke and say I'm the only woman in America whose husbands side of the closet stretches over into mine because I have NO clothes and he has so many. This is such a huge pain the (in the words of my daughter) BUTTOCKS!! I did find some cute clothes at Macy's but GOOD LORD the prices..I'm cheap I'll admit it. I mean really how long will I be in 18's?? I was hoping not long so I didn't really want to pay 69 bucks for a pair of capris. Some advice PLEASE what did ya'll do when the sizes started changing? I recently had to give up another pair of capri's because even with a belt I couldn't keep them up !! I was THRILLED but gotta find something to replace them. Where do you shop?? Any good stores online would be so helpful... I know everyone thinks I hate Hawaii but it's just SOOOO hard when your used to having stores and things around you and then BAM your on this little island out in the middle of the ocean and shipping ( IF they'll even ship here) is outrageous...This is an absolutely gorgeous place to visit but I'm just a Mainlander and that's all there is to it. Thanks for allowing me to vent about my clothes dilema Hugs, Jamie

Hi, Jamie: When I lived in Honolulu, I remember what a pain in the "buttocks" it was to find clothes, and I was less fat then. It seemed like the only place I could find clothes were stores like Liberty House and McInerny's (high end stores that have since closed). I mostly wore t-shirts, shorts, and "slippahs" when I lived there, it was just easier and I could find things in men's sizes that fit me. Things are a little better in Hawaii these days with Walmart and Costco -- have you tried Walmart? They carry plus sizes, and are pretty affordable. Lands End also carries plus sizes, and unlike a lot of online stores, they don't jack up the prices when shipping to Hawaii. What about Jeans Warehouse? They have junior plus sizes, which might fit. Of course, I don't know if their prices are reasonable. Do they still have that big flea market/swap meet on the weekends over at Aloha Stadium? I'll bet you could find inexpensive clothes there. I love that flea market! Lucky you live Hawaii, but sometimes it's a hassle. Even so, I'd trade places with you! Kix

Hey Kix I didn't think about Land's End don't they carry their line in Sears now? I know we have a sears downtown. I did get on outfit from Wally (that's my store I spend no less than 50 bucks every time I walk in there ) the selection was limited last time but I'll try there again. See I knew I could count on you guys to help me. I did buy one pair of shorts from Old Navy but wheww those suckers were tight. I'm wearing them now ...still tight and they are the same size as another pair of shorts I have. Oh well different stores different fit. Thanks for the suggestions Kix Jamie PS My husband giggles EVERY year at Christmas when they air a commercial about Santa's elves and this one guy says something about going to the beach to get your slippahs and the other elf actually gets a pair of bedroom slippers.. It's a culture shock at first living here but it SLoooowllly grows on you.

Jamie, I vote for the running naked!! Maybe if enough people started running naked they would get reasonable shopping for you!! I have no advice on where to shop in stores or online.. Its so hard to judge sizes! One store I need an 8, the next I need a 12! Without being able to try things on I just cant shop!! Just think, it wont be that much longer and you will be back home again! And then we can plan a shopping trip together!! Start saving your pennies now, your going to need it for our shopping trip!! I'm going to hit up the thrift stores this weekend (thanks Diana again for the suggestion) and try Sears. We'll see what I can come up with. I CANNOT wait to hold up a size 8 and say that fits me. You've really done a fantastic job!! I don't think I can say that enough it's just amazing the changes that everyone here on the boards has gone through. THANKS for helping me out guys...I'm off this weekend in search of clothing... I told my sister I'm going to call Clinton and Stacey on What not to wear and say I'm not wearing anything...do you think you can handle this case?? HUGS HUGS HUGS, Jamie

I've scanned the Goodwill...I'm a total Goodwill junkie. I collect pyrex and hit them up every weekend just about. I've looked at some of the shorts but haven't tried any on. I'm just going to have to take time to go through them all. I like the way they organize the store, everything but the clothes..they are jammed, crammed packed in there. I'll make an effort to go check it out this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion Diana! I haven't been to Salvation Army in forever I might stop by there also. You would think I was asking my husband to drive me to timbuckto..it's just around the island and he still complains..
