Do any of you have a lot of problems with edema of the legs and feet? I can weigh one day and then 2-3 days later weigh 7-8 lbs more because of so much swelling. How am I to ever know my correct weight with so much swelling. Yes I take medication for this!!! I am trying to keep my positive attitude about this journey but some days I just feel like everything is defeating me. My clothes are getting bigger but the scales move up and down sooo much that I don't know my tru weight loss. I guess I am just getting discouraged because I go back to my surgeon on Monday and am afraid the scales will not show much of a wt. loss even though I have followed the rules since last visit. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and stay cool!!! janice

Janice, I have a problem with this as well. But, it has gotten so much better. But, I had to lose nearly 100 lbs before it started improving. Try and only weight yourself once a week, first thing in the morning, after the restroom, but before you've eaten or drank anything. It seems to give the most accurate weight, because a lot of the swelling drains out of your legs as you rest. Elevate your feet as you sleep. Try and be patient. I know it is so hard. Your surgeon will see the swelling if it is present. Also, try to walk as much as possible, this also helps. I don't know what your mobility is, but, if you can't walk without pain on land, walk in a pool. The muscle action pushes the edema out of the legs. Hugs, Lori 384/235.5/199
