TANJA RAN HER 10K RACE YESTERDAY!!
Hello all and happy Sunday...
Yesterday Tanja Wollin (my angel) ran the 10k race. Which is 6.2 miles.... The last one she ran was the 8k. She finished the whole race with some discomfort toward the end, but keep on running.. ( I told her she was like forrest!! ) She could tell it was quite a bit longer... She finished though and that was the most important thing to her. We all doubt ourselves from time to time but she pushed herself and got to that finish line in 71 minutes and 7 seconds. She came in third from the last but didnt matter... She finished! She said she wanted to walk a few times but didnt. It is an amazing feat!! And I am so proud of her. Last time she finished next to last. So she is creeping up there. She wants to run another race in September. So theres no stopping her now!! She can do it! So it just goes to show you that we all have fighting deep down in us and can acomplish whatever we put our minds to. She had posted this on the gym post yesterday and I told her this morning that this was worth a post all by itself lol... So hears to our Tanja-Forrest!! You go girl!!
Hugs Marge
Hi Diana,
Thank you so much! I think I said this before, but when I first came to this site, you and your acheivements really stood out and inspired me, so I am happy if I can do the same for someone else. Marge is pretty much always right - isn't she
? You're both right - anything is possible if we want it badly enough, and if we make up our minds to do something, we can do it!
Keep up the great work!!
Take Care,
Tanja
Thanks Lori,
You are amazing, as well. Your continued determination and dedication to exercise really inspired me to put more effort into it. I never thought I would actually accept it as a regular part of my life and enjoy it, but I have. But... I still have to just take one day at a time and take nothing for granted.
Take Care,
Tanja
Hi Jamie,
Thanks so much Jamie; I appreciate your support and I am so glad that you are running, as well. If I inspire others to start running, that in turn inspires me to keep on going. I think about you guys when I'm about ready to drop sometimes (like I was at about mile 4 on Saturday
), and that helps me to keep running... no matter how fast or slow - just like you said. I know there is no shame in walking, but it was so important to me to run all the way, just to prove that I could do it. But I'm telling you... had there been any fast walkers near me at the time, they probably would have passed me, but it wasn't important as long as I was running. You keep going, too, Jamie, and hopefully one day you, Diana, and I will be doing a marathon together!! I am very proud of you, too.
Take Care,
Tanja
Hi Dawn,
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. It means so much to me! How is it going with the blood sugar and eating smaller meals more often? Is it working better for you? I hope so. I guess we always have to be making changes here and there to make this work for us. The same thing doesn't work for everyone - that's for sure. Take care and hope to hear an update from you soon!
