New pictures on my Photos page
I finally loaded my 15 month post-op photos on my profile Photos page. I also posted some new photos in the "personal" section. This summer I joined a watercolor painting group, after not painting for about 22 years. I've been thoroughly enjoying it, so I also posted some photos in the personal section of a few paintings I've done so far if you'd like to see them. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

Aw Marge ... thank you!! I hope my family's proud of me ... my daughters don't say alot, but they seem to be ... my mom always says so, but she has to cause she's my mother, right?
Thanks for the nice words about my paintings ... I don't even remember why I stopped so many years ago ... probably cause of LIFE getting in the way, I suppose. I'm truly enjoying doing it again ... it's my escape.
As for the doggies ... well they rule the roosts around here, can you tell?
They're just like children, spoiled ones!!!
((((hugs)))) and thanks again!

Myra I can't take my eyes away from you paintings. I think they are all beautiful but "Jack in the green" has me in a trance. I just absolutely love everything about that painting! I sat and stared at it for a few mintues wondering what's beyond the leaves. I also love the way you captured the dogs spirit in his eyes. I think a dogs eyes say a lot about it's personality and I'm guessing your granddog has lots of personality!! I too have rescues and when we lived on the Mainland spent a good deal of time in shelters. It's something about the eyes that just seem to bore right into your heart and you just want to reach out to them.
I think you have a very great talent and thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Your weight loss shots are amazing. I love the way your smiles seem to get bigger and bigger as the months tick by. You should be very proud Myra you look just wonderful!! Have you ever considered doing a self portrait?
I am so very thankful to have people like you in my life!! Wls has given me so much more than just a new lease on life, it's given me wonderful, supportive friends like you!
HUGS,
Jamie
Jamie-Girl, you make me cry, you've said such sweet things!!! (((Big old Missouri Hugs to you!!)))
When I was invited to join the painting group, I was petrified to go ... I hadn't drawn or painted in so long I was truly scared to go and make a fool of myself. Turned out the group is a bunch of wonderful men and women who bolster each other up, teach each other and learn from each other ... perfect for me!
As for "Jack-In-The-Green", that's based on a Celtic folk legend, the Green Man. The way I read the story is that "he" was supposed to be an entity that protected the forrest, and if you met up with him, he could appear either menacing (if you were a bad person) or protective (if you had a good heart). So that's what I tried to paint. So far I've had only two people tell me he looks mean ... and yep, they're not all that sweet themselves.
Thanks for the kind words about my painting!
My kids say the same thing about me laughing more now. There's just more to smile about! And I'm pretty thankful to friends like you too, you've been, without fail, supportive and kind, and that's absolutely priceless in a friend.
((((hugs and thanks!))))

My goodness, those paintings are magnificent! My favorite is the one you did of Pie. I am
in awe of people who have artistic talent. My grandfathers and my mother were all gifted artists, but the genes skipped me and my three older siblings and ended up with my youngest sibling. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler!
Have you thought of selling your paintings at an art fair? I'll bet they would sell.
You look marvelous, too!
