I'm Officially a Loser!
Just came home from the hospital an hour ago, and am I glad to be home! I didn't like the hospital my surgeon uses -- it looked dirty and the nurses on the bariatric floor were not very nurturing.
Doesn't matter, though! I'm officially a loser now! My surgery was delayed two hours because the fellow ahead of me (one of my classmates from surgery class) had some complications that took the surgeon longer than expected.
My surgeon was able to do my surgery lap, and it took him less than two hours. The worst I felt was coming out of the anesthetic -- I felt like my lungs wouldn't expand very far to breathe -- but that was temporary.
Lap surgery is amazing -- if I didn't have five holes in my abdomen, I wouldn't know I have surgery. I have pain, but it feels like I've done 1000 sit-ups, and not like surgical pain.
Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts -- I'm sure that's what helped carry me through all this safely.
