Trying to recouperate with a smile
Hi Soos,
Miss you!! Sorry for the surgery complications and the unsupportive employment situation you are in. How could you possibly had planned for the pain and lack of real energy??? If you remember my saga...I was on the wound vac for a month and a half. It was hard getting used to it at first because it "sucked" infection from the wound opening 24/7. I had a home care nurse that came to my home every other day to change the dressing (take the reserve of "liquid") and check my vitals. I wasn't working at the time, but after a few days, I didn't mind lugging that thing around..it has a shoulder strap and is kinda like a heavy purse with a clear tube going from your insision to your wound vac. I'm certainly not an expert..but e-mail me if you have any questions. It was amazing how quickly I healed with that thing. Just don't ask me if I ever felt like throwing it across the room
Hugs and prayers being send your way Soos..you have always been such an inspiration to me.
Hugs
Ginger
Hey Ginger,
Thanks for your response. I DO remember everything you went thru with your complications. I think about that often as I sit here now with mine. The RNY was just so easy for me that this is throwing me for a loop. I have absolutely no energy and just want to sleep all the time. If you dont mind emailing me, I would like to hear about the wound vac. I am suppose to have it put on this week. It was ordered Friday. I guess if I keep my job, I will be going back next Monday for half days for 2 weeks then full time. I guess I will have the energy by then, dont know. I know I will have to carry the vac with me. I will lose the home care nurse as soon as I go back to work next week, so I dont know what will happen then. Keep me in your prayers and please let me know what this thing is all about.
Hugs,
Soos
hi soos:
sorry to hear it's going roughly for you at this time. that was incredibly brave for you to do all the ps at once. and i hope it begins to heal more quickly for you. hope the job works out the way you want it to, but as you already know, your health has to come first. and there's always another job.
you're in my thoughts and prayers hun. take care.

Hi Dorthe,
I really am not complaining, because I do remember all the issues that others went thru and this is really not that bad. Its only giving me more pressure because of my job. I know there is other jobs out there, and I have been very lucky, so I will hold on to that. Thanks for your prayers, I need all I can get. I know you too have been thru a lot, so now I guess it is my turn. I will try to do it with the support of all of you and a smile.
Hugs,
Soos
Hi Soos!
I have been watching some of the real life plastic surgery shows on tv. They show a tremendous recovery time for all the stuff you had done. Thanks so much for reminding us that this is very real.
Do you have FMLA at your job? If so, apply immediately. If one of my employees gets approved for FMLA, I can't do anything about their job, even if I wanted to. If you haven't heard from them, I would call them. It will show you want the job. At least that is my opinion and I've been a manager for 23 years.
Good luck!!!!!
Hugs,
Lori
