Walking without stopping every few yards

Every year, my guy and I go to a Poetry Festival in Tuolumne Meadows - High Sierras East side of Yosemite. Elevation is almost 9000 feet. We have to walk from the parking area about a mile or two in rough terrain to get to the lodge where the program is. I always have to stop due to heat and elevation and excess weight, to catch my breath. We never even went back the second day because it was so hard for me. One of the hopes when I was deciding on having WLS was, that 9 months out, I would have lost about 100 pounds, and would not have to stop to rest as much. Well, I am so excited, I have lost 135 pounds, and we walked that same path, about four times a day for two days in a row, and it was do fantastic. We only stopped when we wanted to enjoy a great view. Never because I was tired out or in pain.

That is incrediblely exciting!!! Congratulations!! Yosemite is one of our most favorite places. The last time we were there I could barely move, so I know where you were coming from. I am so happy for you that you are living your dream. Keep on keeping on! All the best, E.

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you. I understand what it is like to finally just walk around. I have lost about 180 (probably more but not sure till Friday when I go weigh in) and can walk around now too. Pre-op I was unable to even walk from the parking lot to my office let alone a mile or two. Now I walk all over the place, rough, smooth, uphill, downhill, stairs, anything ~ it is great!!! I am so happy for you!! Take care ~ Jeremy

Congratulations, Joyce! What a wonderful feeling. Before all is said and done, you'll be speed walking and jogging. I'm totally serious about that - just wait and see. Hugs, Tracy
