back from doc

Hi, I made it back from doc and I have no stricture, no ulcers, nothing was stuck. I have the reflux stuff. I am so confused as I thought reflux caused heartburn. And this has been extreme pressure type thing. I do not know what to do for relux. They did not say what to do, just that they would send the reports to my doc. I assume he will call me. I see him on the 13 of sept. too. What is reflux and what do you do for it any ideals? Help I am confused on this.

If you're still in pain and you don't hear from your doctor by noon or so, I suggest calling him rather than waiting. Better to be proactive (read: politically correct term for pushy!), than reactive and in pain for longer than necessary! Good luck getting this resolved quickly - Kellie

Acid Reflux, right? I have it and it is exactly like you say, lots of pressure on the chest and at times it made me feel like throwing up. It can even feel like a heart attack - last summer I went to the hospital because of chest pains and that's when I was diagnosed with acid reflux. The dr. said people who have actually had a heart attack can't tell the difference. Once I got on medicine I had no problem - I take prilosec. But I have to remember it every day otherwise I feel pretty bad. I'm sure your doctor will know what to do and will get you a prescription very soon - it can take a couple of days to take affect but it makes a big difference once it does!

Marie, This is no longer a problem for me, but, when it was I took Nexium every day and it controlled it very well. Some of us had reflux because we were so heavy and it went away as we lose weight, but, some WLS patients develop reflux...it is so weird. Good luck! Lori
