Hi everybody, I'm almost at 8 weeks post op, and I've lost 51 lbs. I feel pretty good physically, but emotionally I feel FLAT. I don't know what's going on. I don't feel sad, just blah. I guess I used food for excitement as well as entertainment before... Anyone else go through this? Got any advice? I'm going to go for a walk, maybe that will rev me up... Thanks! Kate

Kate, My surgeon told me that it is very common for WLS patients to go through this and even into depression. I do know that if you keep adding exercise, it gets better! Big hugs! Lori P.S. 51 pds in 8 weeks is fantastic!

Thanks, Lori. My walk helped a little, I guess the honeymoon is over, and now instead of feeling like something amazing was/has happened, I've got to adjust to my new life. BTW your posts always help me! Kate

Kate, Your honeymoon is very far from being over! You are just going through the emotional ups and downs that come with this weight loss surgery. The honeymoon is over when you just can't lose any more weight and you are really trying! You are a long way from that point. I'm glad my posts help you...we can do this Kate and do it for a lifetime! Big Hugs, Lori

Kate: I know how you feel. I've spent so many months getting physically prepared for surgery that now I've had surgery, it's like "Okay, that's done. Now what?" I don't feel blah, but I do feel a bit detached. It's sort of like, "Well, let's get on with it." Good for you on losing 51 lbs! Kix
