What's your profession??
Hi!
I'm 45 years old. Widow of almost 10 years now...hard to believe. I have never had children. I have 9 cats! (I know, that is too many, they are all rescues though, I went out of the rescue business when my husband died.)
I manager a bunch of computer programmers for University Hospital. I've been here 21 years. I am also a volunteer deejay at a community radio station here in Salt Lake City. You can listen to my shown online if you are interested at www.krcl.org. I'm on 10 am to 2 pm M.S.T. on Sundays. It is a folk music show. Music is the love of my life, I just have to have a good paying job to pay for it!

Great Post,
I am an office manager of a small office, for an auto parts store. I have been working here for 25 years, started as a cashier when I was in high school. I have worked my way up the ladder. It is my second family. They have all been so supported of my weight loss journey, and very happy for my success.
Hope to retire by the time I am 50. That would be over 30 years with the same company.
Take care,
Lynn
Stay at home mom and have been for almost 10 yrs. I have three children (9 almost 10,7 and 4). I have been married for 12 years and my husband is in the military so I get to be mom and dad sometimes. I also have a dog at home in Georgia and she is like my fourth child can't wait to get back to see her.
Way back when before the kiddos I worked for a small company collecting credit information for the credit bureaus. Next year all my babies will be in school and I'm Really hoping I'll be able to volunteer at an animal shelter. That is something I've wanted to do for a long time and it looks like I might get my chance! Any rescues out there in Ga that need an extra set of hands please let me know!
Hobbies: reading, gardening, antiquing (I'm a nut for junk shops, goodwills and antique stores), spending time with my family.
Hi everybody!!
My name is Ginger and I am a craft-a-holic!! I've had a craft business in my home for the past 18 years or so. I have been a stay-at-home mom since my oldest son was born. I worked at a day-care center a couple of years ago, but it was part-time till a kid ran over my foot with his tricycle..he was aiming for me!!! I have done so many money-making things out of my home, that I am embarrassed to list them all. I have 2 sons, only one husband and one loveable dog that my son talked us into 4 years ago. I had my open RNY the day before Thanksgiving 2005. It is 9 months later and I have lost 110 pounds. Because of my huge weight-loss, I was able to go for a job that I really feel is a great"fit" for me. I work at an elementary school with special ed k-3 kids. It has only been 1 week that I have been there..but I am thrilled to be able to work with these kids and be able to dress-up in cute clothes for the first time in many years. This surgery has really changed my life. One year ago I wouldn't have the guts(self-esteem) to put myself out there..if you know what I mean. I am really thankful to all of you guys who have been there and continue to support me as I try to make this new lifestyle work....I am having a blast!!
Hugs
Ginger
Let's see, I am an RN who works in ICU at a Catholic Hospital. I work Night Weekends, so that tells you I'm a liitle off right there!
I've been married
for 15 years, mostly blissful! We have an 11 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. Both who are way smarter than either of us AND atheletic-which is a huge shock because neither of us are... We also have a beagle and a ferret. The beagle is a total wuss
, and the ferret dominates him!
I've got a pretty great life, especaily now that I'm losing weight. I also love opera, country dancing, travel, and reading. John Irving is one of my favorite authors although I know he's just a big weird perv!
I love OH, I read every day, although I don't post often!
Take it easy!

I'm a bit late, but thought i would go ahead and add mine. I work at a church as a communications specialist - I primarily do web design but also am the project manager, and dabble in graphics, marketing, etc. Kind of an all purpose kind of job. But I love it, love what I do and love the people I work with.
I also do freelance webdesign and graphics, so when I'm not working I tend to be working on other jobs.
When you said hobby I really couldn't think of any (and my freelance work doesn't allow me much free time), but realized that all the hobbies I love are things I did when I was a lot less heavier - I use to hike and camp and kayak all the time but haven't been able to due to my back and weight. So, ask me again in 6 months and I might be able to give a different answer.
I am single but entirely devoted to my amazing 17 year old niece - she is just adorable and a wonderful girl.
I'm a journalist. I face a ton of discrimination, bascially because I wighed 500 pounds. I don't know that I blame editors for not wanting to hire me. I worked for a weekly paper as a freelancer for about five years. I won some awards for the paper, but they'd never consider me when they had full time openings. When my weight was totally out of control, I became disabled.
My writing career is resurgent of late. I plan to get off disability as soon as I've had whatever plastic surgery I can get out of it (you know, whatever plastics are "medically necessary").
Here are some recent essays about my experience. The appeared in Salon and the Times of London.
