That is a bummer, especially when you are doing so well and feeling so good. BTW, congratulations on your loss so far!! I would just make sure your surgeon is involved in this "discovery process" also along with your pcp. Good luck and God bless. p.s. - I love Big Brother also. What did you think about Boogie winning? Hey Denise, Thanks for the advise. I am a bit nervous about getting everybody on the same page on this blood issue. I forgot to add that my gyno doc is also supposed to exam me to see if I have any issues in the well..er..ah..female region. I hope I can get all this stuff together..but hey, we are SMO's we are tough cause look at all the paperwork we had to get together from all the docs to get approval for this surgery..my folder is full to over-flowing from all my other medical issues. Now I'm done with my pity-party. Please don't think I'm a big baby..although I feel like it often. Oh man! you love Big Brother also?? Cool, I'll just say Chill Town rules...everybody was had by them. It wouldn't had been right for Erica to win since she just coasted into the finals. I just wish that she would had gotten at least one more pity-vote..how embarrasing. I think they should have a weight-loss surgery patient SURVIOR and BIG BROTHER.....Don't ask me to join up...wouldn't happen! Hugs and smiles, Ginger

Ginger, I have not had the problems you are describing, but, I really think I have my surgeon to thank for this. She tested our blood every 3 months for the first year. She made us very aware of the risks of anemia and low b12 especially. She made me so afraid of those problems that I faithfully entered everything I eat into fitday to make sure I get enough protein and other nutritional things into my system each day in adequate amounts. I wish all surgeons were as dilligent with their patients as she has been with me! I do recommend fit day. Hugs, Lori

Ginger, perhaps you don't have a leak, it's just that your body can't retain iron the way it's supposed to. My sibling had WLS in the mid 80s and is anemic as a result. In order to bring it up to healthy levels, she had to take injections for a short time, but can now maintain it with B-12 supplements. If you need iron infusions, it should only be temporary. I know what you mean about the health issues. My cellulitis flares up practically every two weeks now, and my flareups weren't this frequent when I weighed 530 lbs. It gets boring, doesn't it?! Maybe our bodies are mad at us and are acting out? Here's hoping it's not a big deal and you'll be 100% soon! Kix

Hi Kix, Your post was very encouraging to me! The last thing I want or need right now is uneeded medical testing. I do have an appointment with a gastro-doc on Thursday afternoon. I want to just talk to him and show him my labs. I don't even know if this doc is familar with gastric bypass surgery and the issues that come with it. I'm a bit freaked out by hospitals since my last encounter there. I just need to get down to the bottom of this anemia thing. I get home from work now and I feel like I can sleep till the next morning..I'm just not getting anything done with his anemia thing. I think you are right Kix. Our bodies are totally freaking out that we dare to try to lose this weight Thanks for the well wishes...hope those flare-ups subside for ya! HugsGinger

Hi Ginger, As your twinnie told you, I am having a tough time too. for 7 weeks now, I have a wound vac, I have been on IV antibiotics, steroids, rashes, and tons of other smaller complications, but I am trying to have a some what positive attitude. I know Candy is going thru what you are with her iron. She has had 3 IV iron drips and if they cant get her count up she will also need a transfusion. Maybe you can send her an email and you two can talk. She isnt online much, but I will give her a heads up about your situation. Good luck to us both Hugs, Soos
