My daughter has to do a biology project about trees. And I was hoping you all could help. She has to find 40 tree leaves (from around here_ and name and lable them with their scientific name. For extra credit she can do 20 leaves from anywhere. So If you have an usually tree around could you send me a leaf from it. State where it is from and what type of tree if you know she will look up the scientific name. Thanks if you can do this I will greatly appreciate it. Our address is Marie Mullins 504 west grand prairie Palestine, Ill. 62451 I hope this isnt to bold of me. I just want to help and teach my daughter how to do good in school. Thank you. love marie

Marie, I have a banana tree that Im about to trim up.. Im not sure how good of shape the leaf would be in if I mailed it though. The leaves are large would have to be folded to put into a big envelope... But I can try it.. If I cut a fresh leaf it might make the tirip okay... My DH leaves for a short deployment on Tues so I can get the tree trimmed up before he goes then Ill mail it out to you.. Other then the banana trees, the only thing I have is the common oak... Base housing is so bland!! But Ill check my neighbors yard to see what they have.. Amber

A bannana would be neat to add to her collection. We have common oak so dont bother. If the banana is too big to mail that is okay. We counted the leafs we collected and she has 36 so only jour more than she can start on the extra credit ones. Thanks. love marie

Hiya Marie! I live on the OBX of NC and we have Live Oak trees here. They are not like regular oak trees, they are evergreens and have small dark green waxy type leaves. Would you like a sample? Hugsnluv, Phyllis in NC
