Walmart called, confused
I havent worked in around 7 to 9 years.. My goal after weight surgery was to go back to work. Well I filled out a application at walmart. on line. two months ago. They called and ask if I was interested in a part time position. I said sure. Then She said hold on a minute. Came back on the phone and said she meant would I like an interview. I said yes that I had understood that I would have to come in for an interview. She then said she would call me back.
Like what the !@#$, why didnt she just schedule me for an interview. Didnt make sense to me. I have been worried as I was under the assumption that walmart wouldnt hire anyone with a record but I gave it a go anyway, I figured what the !@#$ worse thing they could do is never call. My record is not something I am proud of but cant change. Anyone have any ideals on what is going on.?
If any one if Human Resources has any suggestion at this point please help.
Places of employment (at least in NY) can refuse to hire you if you have a fellony on record. Usually they ask it on the application, and should have screened you out if they didn't want to hire you before they called.
If your having trouble getting a job, contact your states board of labor, in NYS they have a program called VESID, which helps people that have been disabled to re-enter the work force. Perhaps your state has something similar.

I have called them four times in the last two months and they just say they will call me with an appointment to get things started and never do. I guess I am not important enough to help. When I went back to school a few years back they wouldnt help then either. Told me I was uneducatable. Well i showed them i done it on my own and got my degree. Thanks for the insight.
