Good morning to all.... As you know today is the first day of fall and boy do my ears perk up around this time of year.... Lol... We deal with such heat all the time till when the fall season is coming I start perking up and love it. I am also a fall colored kind of gal... I love the browns, oranges, and olive colors. And you can always tell around here when the fall season is coming because the pine straw is falling out of the trees quicker than my hair is falling out lol. And the cotton is popping out in the fields and tractors hauling peanut trailers with huge amounts of peanuts (we are the peanut capital of the world), well eight miles down the road is... Sylvester. And farmers bailing hay around here for the winter. And people selling pumpkins everywhere. So yep!! Im ready and waiting on the cooler air. La la la la la, cant you tell im siked up for it lol...Tell me what its like in your area this time of year. Who hoo!! Hugs Marge

Margaret My favorite time of the year is winter and fall. I just love this season. I myself would rather skip summer somtimes. I really do not do well in the heat. I need a AC where ever I venture in the summer.(I really do not know why because then I am freezing: One of my fondest memories growing up was when the leaves were falling off the tress and my dad was out raking them up here I come running to the pile. That was so much fun. Maybe I will try that again soon. Maybe not........there is no one around to clean up my mess now. Kwheen

Hi Marge! Happy Autumn! I Love the cooler weather too. I'd rather bundle up and be cozy than hot and sweaty! Huggs, Ruth

i LOVE fall too! I love the feel in the air, the colors, everything! If it was up to me I would make it fall all the time (I don't think I would ever get sick of it). Here in Colorado we started the fall with snow - not in the lower elevations but the mountains got up to 1-2 feet of snow. It's been very cold, but I refuse to turn on my heat - I'm a skin flint when it comes to paying for heat, I keep it very low. But I have good blankets and lots of sweatshirts to keep me warm. I use to live in a farming community here in colorado and was friends with many of the farmers - they introduced me to real hayrides with fun barn dances and barbecues every fall, and I got spoiled. I miss those days!

We had frost on the grass over here in SW Jefferson County yesterday. I hope this doesn't mean an early winter for us. I really hate the snow. We don't turn on the furnace, either, so I've been freezing the past two days. I love fall, too. My most memorable fall seasons were when I lived in St. Louis. Fall in St. Louis is something right out of a postcard. So many different trees, and they turn such vivid colors in the fall. The vivid colors, the smell of wood-burning chimneys, and the crisp fall air... just WOW! If I had Myra's talent for painting, I'd try to recreate it on canvas for posterity. St. Louis' fall seasons made quite an impression on this Northern California girl, where fall seasons are made up of either wildfires or earthquakes. Can't remember who said it, but there's the old saying that California does indeed have four distinct seasons: spring, summer, fire, and flood. Kix
