The XL Tee-shirt
Hi Everybody
I just started back to work after many years of being a stay-at-home mom. My "baby" is almost 17 years old and is 6 foot 3!!! I'm sure all of you can understand how I feel after losing 110 pounds and not hurting so much to be on my feet or breathing so hard..just walking down a hallway. I feel much more confident in myself, and I just love this new job. I'm exausted by the end of the day...but I am also still dealing with an iron absorption problem (anemic). Anyways, I never liked to wear men's t-shirts..the neck-band is so high that it would ride-up on my neck and I was lucky if I could get those babies to cover my hips/tummy.
T-shirts were past out at work last Friday. The only size they had was XL. I held that baby up to my body and freaked. First of all, I used to wear a 4x t-shirt..and that was tight. The rest of my co-workers put them on right away over their regular clothes. They looked big on them..you know, like night-shirts. They looked so cute. One of the gals turned to me and asked if I was gonna try on mine too. I smiled and quickly packed it away with my purse. Later on that night, I tried on the t-shirt. drum-roll please................it fit!!!!! I would had never believed in a million years that I could fit in that kind of t-shirt. I will probably never wear that shirt..like I said before..they kinda choke me..but it fit. It's weird how your brain takes awhile to catch-up to your changing body. If I'm this excited about fiting into a men's XL shirt...can you imagine a large or even a medium t-shirt??? I can't. I wish many "wow" moments on you guys too

Woohoo, Ginger!
That is pretty exciting! Congratulations on your return to the work force, although I think being a stay at home mom would be a lot harder than working outside the home.
A friend from my support group just gave me a bunch of her clothes that no longer fit. I told her I was pretty sure they wouldn't fit, but she insisted. I spend the weekend trying them on, and many of them did fit! Was I surprised! I've been a size 38-40 for so long that I didn't think I could wear a 30-32.

Hi Kix!
Thanks! It's funny how much more I get done around the house..now that I'm NOT home all day. Strange, but I am better organized cause I know with the limited time I have....I can't just put things off like I used to. How exciting for you to get a boat-load of clothes..it must be like Christmas for you! I've been getting clothes at Goodwill on 1/2 off Saturdays (every other week) I have some 18's and 20's that I would love to get my butt into. I'm still a big girl..but you know what? The people I work with have no idea how fat I used to be. I am naturally a very open person, so I really need to not give out too much info...I don't want them to think,"woW, if you lost over 100 pounds before..how much do you weigh now??" I'm glad that I had this surgery. It saved my life in many ways, but I'd rather save my wow moments with folks like you guys who truly understand how I feel and what I'm going through. Losers ROCK!

Ginger,
Congrats! How exciting! It wont be long and you will be in a large and medium.. And the XL will soon look like a night shirt on you!! It seems to happen quite fast..
Im hitting the thrift store here this weekend to check on jeans.. I have 1 pair of jeans that fit okay, but the rest are all hanging kinda low.. Im not too interested in showing off my undies or butt crack so I have to do something quick! I live in the thrift shop lately!! I cant afford to keep up with the ever changing sizes so I hit the store on Sundays when its 1/2 off..
Hope you many more "wows" coming!

Hey Ginger------> Way to go!! It's a very exciting journey we're on huh?? I'm SOOO happy for you
!!! Your like me I always go in the bathroom or close the laundry room door to try my new sizes on. I'm soooo sure they won't fit and I don't want anyone else to see me. The feeling after I try it on and it fits is unreal!!!
CONGRATULATIONS GINGER!!!!
BIG HUGS,
Jamie
