Hi all I am 5 weeks post op. I am trying so hard to get in my protein, vitamins and fluids. Not always an easy task. I need some suggestions. I am on phase 3 requiring very soft foods. I tolerate yogurt with Unjury powder to supplement the protein, cottage cheese, hummus or fat free refried beans and not alot else. Nothing tastes good or appeals to me. I try to drink decaf tea because warm does better than cool for me now. I am losing weight nicely . 2 weeks preop I was 377 and this morning I was 329. I hate the protein shakes now even though they were fine preop. I guess it is a phase. I would like something warm to eat that doesn't make me gag...something with flavor that is still smooth and easy to go down. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hey Netta, Bless your heart. I think we have all been there at one time or another. I cant think of anything that is warm drinking but swiss miss no sugar hot chocolate. I really have started drinking one a night as sorta a treat for me I guess. Lol... Hope this helps a lil...Hang in there, it will get better for sure... Hugs Marge

Netta, your at a difficult stage right now. I remember how hard it was to find foods that tasted good and didnt make me sick.. I added hot/warm spag sauce to my cottage cheese with a little moz cheese.. Tasted like lasagne... I was also eating alot of pureed chilli too.. ( I still puree it today too, it just sits better that way).. Good luck finding foods. Amber

Netta, I made a lot of homemade pureed soups. The ones I loved were a black bean soup, tomatoe yogurt soup and a pumpkin soup. I also ate a lot of a chicken mushroom soup. All of these recipes are in the "Before and After: Living and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery" that they sell here. Lori

Can you have scrambled eggs or refried beans? I tolerated those two things really well when I was in the soft foods stage. I would sometimes sprinkle some fat-free cheddar shreds on the warm refried beans. Good luck finding some things your pouch will tolerate! Kellie

When I was on pureed, I loved bean soups (lima, navy, great northers, or black bean soups) with the beans mashed up. Also my doc had us eat cream of potato soup and cream of chicken soup. YUM! (but no mashed potatoes!)
