if you'd like an update - fyi
hello:
i'm not a happy camper tonight but promised an update so here goes:
the new and improved colorectal guy felt that we needed to have a three way conversation with a gynocologist in on our discussion. there was nothing he could do today except schedule me for future testing and apologize for having me in his office when there was nothing he could do today.
the tests they have to do are a colonoscopy, another pelvic exam, and a flexible sig....something. the earliest appointments available are nov 29th for the colonoscopy and dec 4th for the pelvic and the three way meeting.
guess i'm unhappy cause i thought there was finally an end in sight. (pun intended)
and now i know i'll be waiting quite some time yet to get this taken care of.
in the meantime, my podiatrist called and seems to feel i may need a second surgery on my right foot to fix the ankle problem which was missed on the mri prior to the first surgery. grrrrrrrrrr
ok, now i feel like i'm just whining. so i'm gonna stop.
just wanted to let you all know what happened today. i appreciate the concern. the prayers. the positive thoughts. hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. i, personally, plan to scrapbook, clean, and work off this frustration on the elliptical.
take care peeps.
love you all

Dorthe,
I haven't been on much lately, so missed your earlier post. I'm very sorry to hear you are having these problems. I know I'd be depressed too if I was facing this stuff! Heck, I'm depressed and nothing is wrong! I've started to come to believe that we WLS patients are very prone to depression. Do you think it is the way we absorb nutrients, or the fact that we all just wanted to be so much happier once we lost our weight and feel frustrated when we aren't? I don't know. I'm seeing a doctor on Wed to talk about my prozac....
I so hope you get through this stuff without too much trouble!
Hugs,
Lori
Hi Dorothe
wow, It sure is frustrating trying to get all this medical stuff on track isn't it
I have been thinkin' of you and wondering how you were coping with your health issues. Glad you posted! I almost had to have a scope and a colonoscopy. Fortunatly, my new Gastro doc let me take one of those 3-day BM sample tests to see if there is blood found in my....waste, to conclude if I was bleeding internally. My regular doc refused to think that my very low iron levels had anything to do with the fact that I had RNY. He sent me to the Gastro-doc, and although he agreed that some bypass patients have issues with iron absorption..not all do. He still wants me to get the colonoscopy cause I'm almost at the age where they like to have that screening done. I however would like to hold-off on that for now since I still feel like I'm recovering from some of my surgery issues after almost 1 year out. My iron levels went from a 24 to a 32 in just 3 weeks of iron supplements taken with vitamin C. I am so jazzed that the iron and the C is working. Again, I didn't mean for this to be all about me...I hope that you aren't in too much pain as you wait for your docs to get there acts together on your behalf. Foot surgery again??? yikes!! Sending prayers and lots of good postive thoughts your way from
Arizona!
Hugs
