Protein question

Hi guys! I discovered that freshly sliced deli roast beef is something that my tummy and my taste-buds can handle. Can anybody out there give me a rough idea about how many grams of protein are in 2 thinly sliced pieces of deli roast-beef??? I don't even have a clue how many ounces that is. I need to have some kind of protein that is quick to grab and easy to digest. Any other ideas of great protein finds...the protein shakes make me nausious..but I am always in persuit of one that is gonna knock my socks off. I feel guilty for not being as diligent in the protein department..maybe that is why my weight-loss seems to be at a stand-still at 11 months out hugsGinger

3 oz of Roast Beef is 19g of protien thats about 4 to 5 thin slices approx. you have to weight it to make sure. Lorraine

Thanks Lorraine! I'll get out my trusty weigh****chers scale that never got much use before but I just "had" to buy. Thanks for the good info. HugsGinger

Ginger, I probably suggested this to you before, but, 1 cup of fat free cottage cheese has 26 grams of protein. I start my day with it, so I know I'm off to a good start on protein. To make it more palatable, I cut up a fresh tomatoe and add chives and salt and pepper to it. It has become the breakfast of champions for me! My weight loss has been crawling along since my 11 month mark. I think I've lost a total of 8.5 lbs since then. I'm now almost 17 months out...arrgh!!!! I'm still plugging along though. Lori, We gotta keep pluggin' along. We've come too far to quit now right?? I bet your clothes have gotten too big..even though the scale hasn't moved like you have hoped. I love the idea about doctoring-up the cottage cheese. Back in my twenties, when I was fairly thin, for lunch, I used to eat cottage cheese with tomatoes and with sunflower-seeds sprinkled on top...yum! I haven't tried to tackle cottage cheese since my "soft food stage" it was yuchy then..but maybe not so bad now...come to think...everything seemed to taste a bit yucky back then. HugsGinger

Ginger, The sunflower seeds on top of the cottage cheese sounds great! I'm gonna try it and you'd be adding more protein! Yes, I'm down to a 16 now...so hard to believe... Lori 384/233/199

Lori, do you track your food? As much as you exercise, i am wondering if you are eating enough. This is something to thing about. Hugs, Loris

I enjoy my cottage cheese for an afternoon pick-me-up...adding sweetner and almond extract. As a pre-op I don't have to worry about the pouch; but, do any of you post ops have a problem with extracts since they do have alcohol?
