Read Those Labels!
While I'm down with this
cold, I've been craving soup. My favorite soup is split pea, and I found a brand that comes in one of those "cup of soup" containers where all you have to do is pour ho****er and stir.
I've been living on this soup, and sugar free popsicles, for a couple of days. I have been eating one cup of soup at each meal.
Last night, I actually read the nutrition label, and realized that one small cup of soup equalled two servings! YIKES! Not sure how they figure it at two servings, but it startled me to realize I've been consuming twice as many calories each soup meal. At least there was a lot of protein in each cup of soup.
Moral of the story? Read those darn nutrition labels on the packaging.

The one that always gets me is the sodium content....
I saw one of these add-ho****er-and-eat noodle bowls that looked yummy!
then I read the label.... sodium 1250 mg... that's alot but not bad for the whole bowl.....
then I saw # of servings in bowl is 2.5???? EEEEEK!
Needless to say, I can only fantasize about how good this might have tasted!
Hey Kix,
Hope that cold is not getting ya down to bad. Time to send it on its way to someone else now lol.... I tell ya, I have to say some of the serving sizes on things must be for a small barbie or something.Lol... I am like you and read labels alot. Afterwhile I get to be an expert at it when I purchase something alot of the times. But sometimes I will have eatten something and im like omg!! No wonder I was a walking balloon for so many years. Heck, I ate enough by package level for twelve people a sitting lol.... Feel better soon..
Hugs Marge
