Question
I don't know the answer to that, but in Lexington there were plenty of over 50 BMI that had made it to goal. I have lost 155 in 19 months. I have about 50 more to goal. I eat too many fats and simple carbs or I would probably be a lot closer. Amy Williams, Tooter, Glenn, Stacey, and many are at goal with loses of over two hundred and 350 pounds, they just don't post here. Leilani is another.
Steady wins the race. Also, as you lose the weight you feel better going down than you did at a particular weight going up. Even fifty pounds makes a huge difference.
I wish you great success. Loris
Oh how true...as I wait for my surgery date I have been slowly loosing. When you have more than 200 lbs. to loose you don't think of 50 lbs. as making you feel so much better...but I sure do...mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in years. Can't wait until I have lost enough to purchase some new ones.
Hey Jennifer,
That is a great question. There are surely alot of WLS people on here that have made it to goal. I know of a few for sure. Tanja is one of them. She is my buddy and aka angel. She is a skinny heffer now lol and lets not forget our "new" mommy to be diana. She is looking awesome also. And never leave out our own deb doc who won fame just not fortune lol in the oh magazine a few months back. She looks awesome also........ So yes, there are so many who have made it to the finish line. I havent been so wrapped up into that yet. I am sure I will one day but for now just losing every ten pounds to me is like crossing a finish line from where I began...

i'm down 271 lbs since jan of 2005. my bmi has dropped from 66 to 27.
the whole goal thing is still something of a mystery in my mind. i'm 19 lbs below what my surgeon set as a goal, but my bmi is still not in the "normal" range, which i think is what i consider my goal. but people keep telling me i'm losing too much and look too bony. but many other people get to normal in the bmi range, and they don't seem to be too bony. perhaps its all the skin i'm carrying. if i deducted 20 lbs for excess skin, i'd have that normal bmi...but since plastic surgery isn't in my financial future...i want to lose another 20 lbs and get that normal bmi!
so, how's that for a garbled answer to your question?? LOL
