Very busy day getting back in the office after being at the conference. I did make it to the gym this morning. I did 30 minutes of upper body strength training and 45 minutes on the treadmill. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

Thanks so much Lori! He had some minor surgery last week and has developed complications. Dr says he has to stay off work the rest of the week, and he has to go back to Dr. on Thursday, even Dr. looked worried. Told us he's done over 1000 of these surgeries and never seen something like this. Needless to say I didn't go to Water Aerobics last night and they cancled tomorrow night! Jan

I made it to the gym Monday after work and did 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer. My goal for this week is to make it to the gym at least 4 times. Kellie

You can do it Kellie! Mark it on a calendar for each day you go! Feels great when you see the week filled up! Lori

I really need to find a way to talk my sibling into us getting a treadmill. We really don't have room for it in the house unless we put it in the living room, and she won't hear of it because a treadmill is unattractive. Anyway, I went to the clinic yesterday for my WLS class and did lots of walking there, including walking to the parking lot with a friend, and walking fast enough (well, fast for me!) to keep up with her. I was able to get my heart rate up with that brisk walk. I also did some leg strengthening exercises and some walking around the house without my walker. Kix

Sounds good Kix! Anyway you could squeeze a treadmill into your bedroom? I thought I'd hate the treadmill, and maybe I would if I didn't listen to books while I'm on it. But, it is the easiest on my knees. The elliptical kills them for some reason. I guess the most important thing is that we keep moving Kix! Hugs, Lori

Went to the gym for a first time in a long time today. Started my "get back on track" routine. Spent 20 minutes on the cycles, 45 minutes on the weight machines and 15 minutes on the treadmill to finish up. Goal is to try and do this 3 to 4 times per week. Checked my account today. It had been 7 months since I'd been to the gym. Time to get back on track. Sandy 357/190/165

Sandy, I find it helpful to write down on my calendar the days I plan to go the gym at the beginning of the week. If I make it, I put a big red check mark next to it, if I don't, I cross it out...it is a real visual to my commitment! You have done so well with your weight loss, even without the exercise, but, if you want to sustain it, you have to exercise....this is a talk I give myself on a regular basis. Hugs, Lori 384/237/199
