What a *&%*# Day

Cursing in symbols seemed appropriate today. You know those days that are so unbelievably bad that you just want to crawl into bed? That has been it for me the past two days. I have a feeling I am stuck in "bad day hell" forever! Yesterday was bad enough ( just one of those long, exhausting days where everyone irritates you) but today took the cake. I went to vote, spent 1 1/2 hours in line when I finally get to the front and they tell me I can't vote. It seems they have me down as a mail-in voter only. I'm immediately hacked off because they told me the same thing two years ago, and they said they would change it then. Besides, I was in a bad mood anyway and this did not help. So, I proceed to argue with the judge, I'm getting louder and angrier by the minute since it seems I will have to drive 45 minutes to get this taken care of, when I became extremely dizzy, couldn't find a place to hold onto and fell to the floor. Everyone is freaking out; a policeman and fireman show up out of the blue and try to get me to drink water - that would of been fine except they are trying to force huge gulps down and I'm just spitting it out, trying to tell them they will make me even more sick if they keep this up! Then they are trying to get me to eat hard candy, something about my blood sugar. And I'm trying to tell them that I can't have sugar. So they assume I'm diabetic and kick it into high gear, trying to find sugar free candy and getting ready to call an ambulance. I was almost hysterical by then, just laying there sobbing and unable to communicate anything to them. And it was all right in front of EVERYONE, over 100 people watching my meltdown live (forget tv, watch the Pam Show - much more entertaining!) Finally I started to feel better and they walked me to my car. I'm at work now, but still feeling a little light headed and tired. And I'm SO MAD I didn't get to vote - I've never missed an election, ever. Of course who knows if they will ever let me vote again, the crazy red-head who yells too loud and faints at the polling station. Hope everyone else had better luck at voting then me

I thought I was having a bad two days until I read your story. Im glad u were able to find some humor in the crazy red-head after all that. I enjoyed reading all about the Pam Show today. Oh, gosh, I shouldn't do this, being your and all, but I'm on the kitchen floor visualizing all of this! Here it was, a beautiful day in Highlands Ranch, when my pal PJ shows up to vote. Voting center drone says . PJ gives the election official a piece of her mind . When that doesn't work, she gets , then starts to , and finally plops down on the floor Channel 9 talked about all the voting delays in Highlands Ranch, but I'll bet they didn't know they were PJ-related and not just some boring computer problems! Seriously, I always vote absentee. The last time I voted in person was in 1985 when I lived in St. Louis and the precinct drone couldn't find my name on the registration log. I could see my name, but she couldn't find it, and until she could find it without my help, I wasn't given a ballot. It took her a $*%(# hour to find it. Kix

Hey PJ, Jeez, talk about a bad day ugh........ Heck, you done one better than me. I wouldnt have even went in to work lol... I would have just headed home and "poor me " all the way so see, you are a strong woman and things like that do happen sometimes.. But gotta tell ya... Your friggin story cracked me up... I have to say your story was better than the one I heard yesterday about voting. This woman was all fired up and stomping out of the election place here in our lil one horse town because why? ...... They had the "whole place" smelling like perfume and she is NOT!! Gonna go in there and vote lol...She said this is just one year she is refusing to do it because that perfume makes her "sick".. Well I do understand that happens to some people but jeez come on now... You get alot of people from all walks of life in one room at a time there is bound to be "odors" that werent deliberatly made.. Lol.. She was acting like there were going around spraying perfume "just" so she couldnt vote lol....So hope today will be better for you... Come on now.. Couldnt have gotten much worse than yesterday huh? Lol you are to funny....Laughing about it later always makes the "falls" a lil bit easier... Hugs Marge

Mercy! I'm so sorry this happened to you. But--you survived! That's a good thing! My daughter lives in Denver and she kept calling me (California) every half hour giving me an update on her progress through the long lines. She was livid! Perhaps absentee voting is a possible choice for you two. It is so discourging to work a long day and then have to go through this. Then, add on to that not even being able to vote! Terrible--have you considered sending your experience to the newspaper, mayor, etc.? Something ought to be done! I do hope it works out better for you next time. Glad it is over for you! Take gentle care, Ema

PJ, Thanks so much for trying to vote! I'm so sorry it turned out the way it did for you though. I am thrilled with the national election results (not Utah's, but, I never am) but, still feel frustrated that only 40% of the nation bothered to vote. Lori
