Some wow moments for me!
I posted this to the monday weigh in, but then decided it derserves it's own post...
I stayed the same this week, no weight loss, but what a week I had! On Monday, I tried on clothes and got a lovely 2X top and skirt that fit! And I got an underwire bra that puts the girls back up north where they should be and they actually look good.
I went to a gathering on Sunday where I saw at least 100 people that I have not seen in months and I got about a million hugs after they showed their shock and awe and joy for me. Everyone said they were so happy for me and that I looked so much younger. It was a day of joy. I actually felt pretty. I also rode in my daughters brand new car and had no trouble with the seat belt.
I never dreamed I could feel and look this good after only losing 75 lbs. It's absolutely amazing to not feel like a monster anymore. I'm still so overweight, but not the kind of overweight where people stare at me in horror.
I got a job! At Curves! Who would have thunk that Julie could be a fitness counselor?
Today I go for my belated 3 month check (Wish Center here in Washington went bankrupt) with another surgeon, who was partners with mine. Mine moved out of state evidently, but at least I now have some aftercare.
Despite a ton of stress in my life, I am SO HAPPY! Even in the most stressful times, I feel these little wiggles of joy because I can move and I can do things I could not do before and I look so much better.
Ema,
I just read about your surgery date and I am so happy for you too. On January 29th. while you are having your surgery, I will be flying home from visiting my daughter in GA. Since that will be the first trip I have ever flown, we are both going to have big days that day. My son bought me a first class ticket, so I am riding in style.
You are going to be so happy you did this. It just keeps getting better and better.
Julie
Hey Julie,
Its a great feeling to be so aw'd over aint it? And you have worked hard to get to where your are and makes it oh so much more sweeter.... Congrates on your job also. And boy do I relate to some of the things you were saying about not being googled at for being our size. So May you have more wow moments and make sure you share them with us!!
Hugs Marge
Julie - Congratulations on the good work with your weight. I am sure it was awesome to see so many people who could celebrate with you over your success. Congrats on the new job too. Does that mean that you get to work out everyday on their equipment as part of your perks? If so, that's even better! I'm sure they would want you familiar with the machines, and first hand knowledge is best. Keep up the good work. Karen
