I'm headed to Park City this afternoon.
Park City is a ski resort town east of Salt Lake City. It is beautiful up there. I don't ski, but, I've been asked to emcee a concert there tonight. Americana artist, Slaid Cleaves will be playing up there. It will be nice. I'm going up with a girlfriend. We will have dinner, I will announce the concert, we will enjoy the concert, then the concert organizers are giving me a room for the night at the Prospectors Square Lodge. Since I can stay the night I don't have to worry about driving through potential bad weather.
It is now less than 2 weeks away for my big trip to Sweden. It is hard to believe it is coming up so fast. I am so excited for my Swedish family to see me 150 lbs lighter. 4 years ago when I made the trip, I had such a difficult time with my knees and keeping up with my Swedish family who are all very fit and are used to walking everywhere. I am pretty sure I can keep up with everyone this year!
Big hugs to you all!
Lori

Hi Deb,
My Grandfather came here from Sweden. He was the only family member that immigrated, so I have a big family there. My father connected up with them about 6 years ago. A few of them have come here to visit us. 4 years ago, I went to Stockholm, with a boyfriend I had at the same time from Amsterdam. My sister and nephew from Nebraska will be going with me. It will be their first time out of the country. I'm really looking forward to it. My Cousin Eva has lots of fun stuff planned for us. I will be there from Dec 7 to the 17th, so we will be back before Christmas, but, we will be there for many of the holiday special events that Stockholm has. Since it only has daylight 3 hours a day, there are tons of holiday lights around all the time!
Hugs,
Lori
I have many fond memories of Park City. During my high school days in SLC, I spent many a Friday afternoon skiing face down at Park City Resort, and many a Saturday being pulled uphill, face down, by the rope tow at Park West. I wasn't the most graceful of athletes even then!
Of course, in those days (back when dinosaurs were family pets), an all-day lift ticket cost $3. Can't imagine what it costs now.
My family is also Scandinavian (I'm first generation American, my parents are Danish). My parents' families all came to the US within a year or two back of each other back in the 1940s, so the few elderly relatives *****mained in Denmark have since passed away. We keep in touch with one cousin, and my family visited her last year (without me, my health was too poor to travel at that time).
I haven't been to Denmark since the 70s, so I'd like to go back when my health is 100% and see just how much it has changed.
Have a great time!
