Oh, Lori, I am so glad you are feeling better. You have a trip to Sweden to get ready for and you have no time for a cold. I am sure you are really getting excited. Take lots of photos and enjoy everyone of your WOW moments. You deserve everyone of them!!!Karen

Thanks Karen. My first wow moment will be just how much more comfortable I am on the airplane than when I went 4 years ago. It cost me twice as much having to buy 2 seats for the last 15 years. Since about a year ago now, I have sit in one seat without a seatbelt extender!!! It amazes me every time!!!! Hugs, Lori

It's been a hectic day at our usually quiet house! A friend from surgery class stopped by today to drop off another two big bags of clothes for me -- we had surgery the same day, but she started out in a size 30-32, so her "old" stuff fits me just fine, if not a bit loose. I say "old" stuff because she is obviously not as hard on clothes as I am, the clothes are practically new. Thanks to her, I am now set for winter wear. I joked that she should have worn a red hat and a beard, because with all these nice clothes, it feels like Christmas Day. I spent time walking around the house without my walker while she was here, and then did my sit and tone for 20 minutes. Sears decided to show up today to deliver the new washer (we were expecting them tomorrow), plus UPS has been here on and off all afternoon, so I sort of feel like I'm living in the middle of a train station! Kix, I think one of the neatest things about WLS is sharing clothes with others. I started out in 30/32. But, the most expensive ones you could buy. Even at nearly 400 lbs I was trying to look "professional". It broke my heart to give away so many thousands of dollars of clothes. But, other WLS patients shared their clothes with me and it continues to this day. I have a bunch of size 14 and 16 jeans I can't quite squeeze into yet in my back bedroom. There is a lot of love among us! Hugs, Lori

Lori, I think my friend must have been like you in terms of buying expensive, good quality clothing. Many of these things are Nordstrom-quality and above. She joked about how she would have given them to me sooner because they are too big for her, but it took her some time to work up to saying goodbye to them. Having dealt with some extremely selfish people in my life, I am always amazed that some people give so generously. Not only did this particular friend give me all these nice clothes (this is the second batch I've gotten from her), but she even drives out of her way to bring them to my house, since she knows I'm not able to drive yet. It's very touching! I intend to "pay it forward" when I outgrow them. I think it's so exciting that you are going to Sweden and only needed to buy one ticket! I haven't traveled by air since my health went bad a few years ago, but I had to buy two tickets back then. I look forward to the time when I only need to buy one! Kix

Well Kix, you are with a different crowd now. Not that there isn't some selfish folks among us WLS patients, but, luckily, I've met very few of them!!!! Big Hugs! I can't wait until you have your first wow moment with an airplane too. I can't even describe how good it feels!!!!! Lori

I did the hips and thighs of steel tape. It's about 30 minutes of aerobics and 35 of standing and floor lower body toning.
