Marlena, I have only had a drink (out in public)twice since my surgery. I suggest you find something that you can just sip on for a long time. When I went out I temped fate and drank Vodka, cranberry juice, and a dash of orange juice. Lots of sugar!! But I took my time and just sipped on it the whole night. I had to get more ice a few times.. The other time I got a cup of coffee with starbucks liquior... But I did look kind of funny drinking coffee at a club... At home if I want a drink I have found that I love cask and creamer liquior mixed with AchievOne... Ohh my!! I have to be very careful with those.. They taste so good I could sit and drink a dozen of them... Have fun.. Be safe.. And remember that alcohol hits you quicker now... It wont take much for you to "feel" the alcohol... Amber

I pretty much stay away from ANYTHING with sugar.... now when i got out I order a glass of Merlot. ( red wine has just about no carbs ) And you can't really "chug" red wine, so it's easier to sip.

I have tried Port and champagne and red wine successfully, in small quantities. Last night I had an apple martini I am over a year post op. I am being careful I do have to sip very slowly, because it now takes very little to get a buzz. Nothing with juice, or the sugar thing may be an issue.

I drink Vodka and Cranberry Juice. If I am home, I have light cranberry juice, in a bar, just what they have. I have never had a problem. I don't get drunk any faster than before, and usually, when I go out drinking and for Chinese food, it is good for a 5 pound weight loss. Go figure.
