(For those outside of Colorado, most of the state is getting hammered with a blizzard, and when it's all over, we may be looking at 24-30 inches of snow in metro Denver). Just checking to see how my fellow Coloradoans are doing today. We're fine over here in SW Jefferson County, although we have already plowed the driveway twice just to keep up with the falling/blowing/icy snow. Since we live in the foothills, I expect we will have major accumulation. My WLS had his holiday party scheduled for tonight, but wisely, he cancelled. I doubt anyone would have been able to get there, anyway. Kix

I was just thinking about emailing you and seeing how you were doing over there on the west side of town It's pretty bad here - I unfortunately had to get out this morning and it was not pleasant. The highways haven't been plowed and there is about 8-12 inches on the roads, but I was so proud of my little car, it did great! I am now home (work closed down, yeah!), got the fireplace on and I'm snuggled up in my very warm wool dress and fuzzy slippers, jus****ching it fall and blow. I figure I'll be here for a couple of days, so I stocked up on some food at my local Super Target (which has a wonderful underground garage) and am ready to wait it out. I was going to shovel my walk, but decided I had had enough of snow and will wait until it all stops - as a matter of fact, I think I'm going to go take a nice hot bubble bath pretty soon and then maybe take a nice nap! I love storms like this, it's a great excuse to be a slouch for a couple of days Stay warm!

I think we have about 12 inches over here so far. My sister keeps going outside every hour to plow the driveway, which I think is kind of futile. She is extremely upset because she is supposed to leave out of DIA for California on Friday morning and is convinced she won't get out. I hope she does, because if she doesn't make it to California for Christmas, she will be so mean and hateful that the entire neighborhood will feel her wrath. I see the garbage dude didn't even try to pick up the trash today, and I don't think the post office will make it, either. I'm impressed you made it outside on unplowed roads -- we had one car come up our street. It was one of those big honkin' SUVs. There's no way our family Honda could navigate it right now. Kix

I really hope she gets out, for your sake! I've been watching the news and seeing all those poor people stuck at the airport - at Christmas it seems especially hard. I had two friends flying out early this morning, I really hope they made it out. I've been sitting here watching as car after car is getting stuck in my parking lot - one guy worked on getting out for over an hour! He finally was able to at least park it out of the way. My car is buried, can't see it at all. Part of that is due to the idiot plow guy - completely blocked me in. Tomorrow afternoon is going to be so much fun - I won't have to do my aerobics, I'll count all the shoveling as my exercise! Despite that, I still love blizzards. I missed the 2003 one (was on the beach in Texas, which was a great alternative) so I feel like I haven't been stuck in a long time. Did you hear 9news say that this could be the first of many big blizzards this year? Something about the way the El Nino is moving. I love this once and awhile, but more than once a year? Not so sure about that! Take care hon - glad to know you are safe and sound at home.
