First post on this board.
I am new to this board but am active on the Texas message board and just thought I would come share with you all. I know that people here have to be like I was in the beginning wondering if this surgery works. I am here to tell you that it does. I am about two and a half years out and am doing great I have gone from a 70+ BMI to about a 29. I am not concerned about the numbers that make us "Normal" because I measure my numbers a different way. I am not taking the 13 pills I did pre op and my hemoglobin A1C is a 2.75 not the 10.36 it was pre-op but I have made vast improvements in my life and would do this surgery again if I had to do it tomorrow.
Please feel free to check out the www part of my profile to see my pictures.
Also please feel free to email me and ask any questions but I have to warn you I am slow to answer emails but I will answer them. I hope you have a great holiday and remember the reason for the season..

Hi Dawg,
Thanks for the post. This board is wonderful as it really does meet the needs of folks who start out with a bmi over 50. When you are that big, your challenge is different, your lifestyle changes more startling.
I think it is so wonderful that you have done this surgery, become healthy again and reach out to others to give support....thanks so much!

greetings dawg! nice to meet you.
congratulations on your success! you've done great. my story is similar to yours...starting bmi was 66.4. i'm just short of 2 years out and at a bmi of 27.3 currently. i would like to achieve that "normal" bmi, but if i don't, i'm very happy now! life is SO much better!
happy holiday wishes to you, and hope to see you around here more often.
