But not for me. I'm having some real intestinal distress today. I think eating the various Christmas stuff has caught up with me. I'm staying home sick today. I am definitely worried about getting out of control with my eating. I am making an appt with a therapist to work through this. I have totally stalled on my weight loss. I'm still very good about exercising, but, find the compulsion to eat back with a vengence! It is one reason I put this surgery off for 5 years after it was first suggested to me by my doctor. I was so afraid to fail. Anyway, hope you guys faired okay during the holidays. What have you done to move your body today? Lori

Lorraine, Thanks for your prayers. I will need them. Being a compulsive eater has been my lifetime struggle! Getting the foods out of the house that cause you problems is a great idea. More power to you!!! Keep on exercising...best thing you can do for yourself! Hugs, Lori

I've been on a carb binge for over a week now. I haven't had sugar (makes me dump like crazy) but I had more than enough chips, snacks, s/f pie, s/f cookies, s/f candy, crackers, full-fat cheese, etc to make up for it. My church is starting a fast in preparation for our New Year's Eve Communion service. I guess that's as good a time as any to begin the carb-detox. I also made the consicous decision last week that I would not exercise for 7 days. That hair-brained idea came from an episode of the biggest loser a couple of seasons ago when Matt purposely slacked on the exercise for a week then kicked it into high gear the following week to jumpstart his weight loss. It worked like a charm for him - let's see what it does for me. I'm actually a bit excited about getting back on track. It's a new beginning. Anyway, I got a new step aerobics tape for Christmas that I plan on doing tonight followed by lower body toning and abs.

Tracy, My trainer told me to take 1 week off every 2 or 3 months. That my muscles need to be shocked or something. I have only done it when I've been sick, then it seems really hard to get back. If it works for you please let me know!!!! Hugs, Lori

I made it to the gym Tuesday after work for the first time since 12/14. I did 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer and was pooped when I was done. Amazing how quickly our hard-won gains can be (partially) lost! Anyway, now that the Christmas holiday is over, I'm getting back on my regular food and workout schedule. Kellie
