Good morning all!! I have a question. I go to the dr to see my surgeon tomorrow and this is the first time that I will weight in and I have gained weight. I started at 362 have gotten down to 215 during the holidays I gained back up to 223 and am back down today to 218 so that is a 3 pound gain in over a month, he will not be happy. Has anybody else ever went to the dr and had a gain, because I am devistated I even thought about cancelling my appointment and making it for next month but that is not accountability and it only hurts me to not here what the dr will say to me. Any comments suggestions or anybody have a little bit of a gain before going to the dr? Please help me nanette 362/218/???

Nanette, I have! No too proud of it but I have done it. I bounce up and down about 5lbs, but over the holidays I put a little more... My surgeon wasnt thrilled with it, but just explained that at this point that its up to me to control the weight. I can no longer depend on the surgery alone to maintain my weight. Catching it early, taking action to control it, and keeping myself on track is what he suggested. He also suggested that I log my food and drinks again. I fell away from keeping track of everything. I didnt notice that I had upped my calories quite a bit. Your surgeon will not be happy about a gain, but hopefully he wont belittle you. While you might need a slight kick in the butt to get you and keep you on track- you dont need to lectured, belittled, and made to feel like a complete failure. Just make sure you let him know that you have gained a little and that your back on track working on taking it off.. Thankfully my surgeon is good at reading people. He gives me the swift kick when I need it, but also can give me the support and comfort without making me feel horrible about myself. Go to your appt. Be brave. Be accountable. I wish you much luck with your appt. Amber

The Dr will mostly likely say it's water weight.
