eating to much
hi i was wondering i can eat 3oz of meat a half cup of veggie and not feel full at 4 months out. sometimes all i do is think about what to eat i hate that but i still do it. i have been overweight all my life and had rny in september. is that normal or is this the beginning of failure, i have lost 77 pounds since surgery, the just put me on ortho novuo and i think that makes me want to eat. i would like any sugestions i am trying very hard but at times regret what i did.
thank you
cheryl
I am guessing it would depend on what your dr. told you to be doing at this time.
I know with me I never do feel full. but I don't feel hungry I just feel I want to eat.
1 thing I have done is never go over 4oz. unless it is soup , liquid type meals etc and then only to about 6-8 oz. I never have that ""oh boy I am full and satisfied feeling but I am also still losing weight after 14 months out.
I say just remember why you had this surgery and keep that in the front of your mind when you feel like eatting more. Also don't rely on that full feeling you may never get it back I know I haven't.
If all else fails drink when you want to eat. I know I have eatten lots of sugar free popsicles and drank LOTS of water to get through a want to eat moment.
Good luck Jennifer

My Dr. and nutritionist have on my diet for me to go from 2oz of protien to 5 oz of protein between my 3rd to 6th month post op. For me it totally depends on the protein as to how much I can eat...I can eat only 1oz of red meat but 3 oz of fish and I can eat a whole cup of protein added to SF pudding. I am supposed to eat 2 tbs of fruit or veggie until I can eat all 90g of protein a day without a supplement and then go up to 1/4 cup.
According to my Dr. I should max out at 5oz of protein and 1/4 cup fruit or veggie at a meal, so you sound like you are right on track!
How much protein are you getting a day? I feel like it is all I can do to get all of mine in. I am 5'8 so I have to eat 90g per day (depends on your height)
