As many of you know, I have had an ongoing battle with cellulitis the past year due to a big hunk of adipose (fat) tissue on my right thigh. I saw my PCP last week, and both she and the bariatric doc think I have a good case for getting this skin removed due to medical necessity. She even thinks that rather than wait until I get to goal, that it may need to be done in two parts -- one now and another when I'm at goal. (My PCP asked me a funny question during my exam. She said, "Are you still losing?" At only five months out, I'd better darn well still be losing! ) I see the Infectious Disease doc again on Wednesday for follow up, and my PCP wants me to talk to him about surgery and how long I'd need to be between flareups to get it done. She also said she'd email him a note about my situation. I hope to get at least a consult for a plastic surgeon before my PCP takes maternity leave this spring; otherwise, I suspect nothing would happen until the end of the year. Everyone please channel positive thoughts toward Kaiser Skyline clinic in downtown Denver this coming Wednesday afternoon, I sure could use all the help I can get! Thanks! Kix

Hey Kix, I know that you have had alot of problems with that cellulitis and I say if you can tollerate the surgery and are prepared for it and they will give it to you now then... Go for it. It will be less on ya to go thru maybe in the end... I have never had cellulitis but I can see it is terrible for you to go thru all the time. So I will be thinking of you all the way girl!! Hugs Marge

YEAH!! I'm doing back flips as I write (ok, not back flips, but I'm imagining them in my mind). I hope this works for you, we'll just pray for no more infections!!
