Oh, Boy! It's Snowing AGAIN in Colorado!

OK, Julie, did you do that snow dance again? This is the sixth weekend in a row for us. Mother Nature fooled us with a taste of warmer weather and sunshine for a couple of days, which gave me false hope. We are getting big, fluffy snowflakes today and I think we'll end up with six more inches of snow when the storm is finished. Weather dude also said we will be getting another one of those awful cold fronts from the Arctic, too, so next week ought to be fun when it's 0 degress outside. I particularly hate it when weather dude says, "1 to 3 inches of snow downtown, but if you live in the south or west foothills (PJ is south, I'm west), expect up to six inches of snow." Not only that, I'm out of shrimp! This is a bad thing when one is a shrimp addict. It's snowing too hard for me to manage the sidewalks with the walker, so my sister is stopping at Costco on the way home from her hair appointment. I hope they have the prawns I like -- sometimes Costco likes to disappoint me. If not, maybe I can wangle a trip to Whole Foods tomorrow. On the happy side, I finished my IV antibiotics yesterday and am now on a regimen of horse-sized Keflex pills to see if we can keep this cellulitis from flaring up again. I hope to have a plastic surgeon consult soon. Kix

I was pleasantly surprised that we barely got an inch! For once, I am glad the weather man was right Although now we will have to deal with the freezing cold - I've never had a problem with cold, but since I lost weight I am having the hardest time staying warm. Everyone at work loves coming into my office since I keep my space heater on ALL DAY and my door closed. Even then I'm still cold! This could be why I have this darn cold, the cold to hot thing is freaking out my body. Hope you got your shrimp

PJ, I've been meaning to tell you that your new photo looks marvelous! This storm was so funny. It snowed like crazy over here all morning and most of the afternoon, then it suddenly stopped, as if someone flipped an on/off switch. The sun came out and the sky turned blue. I think we ended up with three inches of snow. I feel like a big baby for complaining about it, but I am snowed out. Bring on 90 degrees! I'm not looking forward to the cold, either. Weather dude last night (Channel 2) said Friday's high won't be higher than 0 degrees. Yikes! Just what I need. I'm always cold, too, but I find if I can keep my feet, hands, and head warm, the rest of me seems to manage just fine. I've taken to wearing a knitted beanie at home to help keep me warm. I look like an idiot, but it works! I was on the Access-a-Ride van the other day headed downtown to my Kaiser Skyline appointment. The driver had been yakking nonstop from my house, and I wasn't paying close attention to her yakking. She suddenly said, "I am so sick of this snow, I want to wear my cute shoes instead of boots all the time." I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't you driving the van! Just think, our snowiest season isn't even here yet! I did get my shrimp, three bags full! Yum! Now if we get snowed in, I'll be prepared! No protein deficiencies at our house. Kix

Thanks for the pic compliment! I've been taking a picture every month and that was my most recent. Boy, it has made a difference to take those pics - I was SHOCKED at how different I look. It's like mentally I know I've lost 95 pounds but couldn't see it. The comment from the bus driver just cracked me up - talk about out of my mouth and into the mouth of others! I went shoe shopping AGAIN today, although this time it was for some good tennis shoes to work out with - i ended up buying 2 other pairs and spending too much money! I think I'm becoming a shopaholic - also found a Lane Bryant at the Castle Rock Factory Outlet stores that sells wholesale, plus 50-75% off. All the clothes I bought there last month are already getting too big, but at least they were cheap! I did clean out my closet this weekend and got rid of 2 huge bags of clothes and shoes - you would think my closet would be empty, since I've done this 2 times before, but I STILL have clothes. I thin****pt every piece of clothing I use to have, with hopes of eventually fitting into them. Can't wait for that day! Man, I'm rambling tonight - this darn cold is making my mind kind of fuzzy and I haven't been out of the house all weekend, so I guess I am feeling a little stir crazy. Enjoy your shrimp and have a great week!

Julie, I thought maybe that snow dance of yours was so powerful that it stretched all the way to Colorado! This last storm was practically nothing, so I feel like an idiot for howling about it. We're going to get one of those Arctic fronts in the next day or two, so we'll be freezing right along with you. Come summer, when it's 100 degrees outside, remind me of how much I whined about the cold winter! Kix
