Thanks for doing the happy with me. Dorthe , just keep fighting for what you want. I'll check my referral to see what they coded it as. Maybe they need to submit it under something different. I just hate that the insurance companies do this to us. Everyone that I have had the opportunity to meet on this board has come such a long way and it is just wrong for them to deny us. Kwheen

Hey Kwheen, What great news!!! I too have wondered about the possibility of getting a panniculectomy. I was just wondering...Does your insurance require you to be at goal weight before they will pay for a panniculectomy?? I am not at goal yet...but I totally fantisize(spelling) about the smaller pant sizes I could wear if I could just get rid of this hanging belly fat. My arms are pretty saggy, but I think I could live with that more than dealing with that belly of mine. Do you need allot of medical documentations??? pictures??? Uhg!!! I'm doning the happy dance right here with ya HugsGinger

Hi Ginger, It has been along time since I have talked to you guys. If I could just stop going into MIA status I'd be alright. I'm not at goal weight yet myself. I still have about another 60 or so pounds to go. Yesterday I was told that the appointment would be in 2 weeks. But, I recieved a call and was told that it would have to be pushed back into April. Hopefully that will give me the chance to losd ar least half of what I have to lose. The insurance company did not ask me for any documentation at all. And I am very suprised that they did not. I guess after losing a little over 150lbs they were ok with that.I was prepared to put up a good fight for it. No pictures, no documentation or anything. It was just that simple for me. I totally feel you about the tummy and the pants situation. My arms are too doing this flappy thing but, I can deal with that at least for right now I can..Thanks for stopping in and doing the happy dance with me. Kwheen

Congratulations Kwheen! I'm currently saving $450 a month to try and pay for one out of pocket. It will take me 18 months! Good for you!!!! Lori

Thank you so much Lori. If the insurance company did not cover this, Iprobably fight them for it. But, then again if I had to , I would be doing the same thing that you are doing now.I am not sure what else they will cover yet. I'll just take it one procrdure at a time. Kwheen
