I'm home
I had to stay an extra day because my IV infiltrated and caused phelibitis in my arm, causing a fever. I'm glad to be home, and I'm learning how my baby pouch works. I'm thankful that I haven't vomited so far, and that I can feel when it is full of fluid or jello.
Thanks for your warm wishes.
Jennie
Welcome back Jennie! And congrats on making it through surgery.
My IV infiltrated as well, but they caught it early enough that I didn't get an infection (thank goodness). Although I did stay in an extra day due to an allergic reaction to some of the meds they gave me - that was a miserable, itchy day!
Hopefully you won't throw-up, I haven't yet and I am almost 5 months out. I was so scared of that possibility that I was overly cautious - probably a good thing but it drove my family nuts!
Best of luck!
Pam
Hey Jennie,
Glad you're back and doing well. You're lucky not to have had any problems with the vomiting. The day after my surgery that's all I did - with nothing in my stomach or my new pouch - OUCH is right
. I'm doing a lot better now. Able to keep everything down. now if I could just get rid of the stomach spasms, I'd be okay
Nice to see you on the losers bench
Lysa

I've been wondering about you Lysa! So glad that you are home, but I'm so sorry about your vomiting and spasms. Sometimes I wonder what my pouch is doing -- it feels like it is jumping around, but it doesn't hurt or anything. Just strange feeling "movements" I guess.
When we drove home on Sunday from San Diego, I was pointing out the hospital that you had been in to my husband and wondered how you were doing.
Rest, don't over do, that's my motto right now!
Jennie
