This month is pure torture for me! Every February is rough... This year is worse then normal.. I understand why, but cant change anything.. Its just the way life is.. DH is the only surviving child in his family. 25yrs ago on Valentines day he watched his younger brother and sister drown after falling through a frozen pond. He was only 8yrs old.. So Valentines day is never a good time for him. Yesterday we got the news that his Aunts health is really bad. They dont expect her to make the through the year. His favorite uncle is also in poor health. Everyone ages and peoples health worsen with age. Reality ha**** him pretty hard.. Noone lives forever.. He just doesnt want to face losing anyone else.. Last night it started and made for a long long sleepless night. I was up and down all night! I prefer to get up with him if he has nightmares about the event. I cant stand the thought of him being alone with those memories so vivid in his head! So last night was the first of about 15 that we go through every year.. Keep us in your thoughts! Its going to be a long rough couple weeks! Thankfully it tends to fade away the last week of Feb! I just have to get through the next 14 days or so! Amber

Amber, what an awful experience for your husband! Being the oldest, I'll bet he felt like there was something he could have done to help them even though they most likely died right away from hypothermia. I'm sorry to hear he's having a rough patch right now, and that his relatives are in poor health. I hope the next few weeks go as smoothly as possible for both of you -- sending good thoughts your way. Kix

Hey amber, I dont think there are words to say how sad a tragedy that was all them years ago. And I tell ya, I can amagine it really is something he will never get over. All you can do is be there for him like you already have all these years. My heart goes out to you and your husband. That goes to show you no matter how old you are, sometimes it follows us forever. Stay strong and try to just be there and get some rest when you can. Ill surely be thinking of yall. Hugs marge
