PROTEIN AND WATER.....

I was just sitting here thinking about something and wondered if yall ever have this problem. I have had surgery a lil over a year now and I have to confess... I still to this day have a hard time getting in all my water and protein a day. I have started drinking three protein drinks a day because of this. By the time I drink I cant make myself eat. Then I eat and cant make myself drink. Lol.. When I go to bed I feel like a water barrel. I have tryed so hard to get all the water in and so far that is going great but it fills me up so much till food is the farthest thing from my mind. So have decided to hit the protein powder in between trying to eat. I also think I eat to low amounts of calories to. It is like seafood mostly and canned tuna and chicken. Thats very low in calories but cant fini**** all at one sitting. I have always been this way ever since surgery. I had a very hard time with getting protein in from the first because of nausea and most likely is why my hair went poof! So just was wondering if any of yall still feel that way or ever have had problems like that. My kids think im crazy when I tell them I am about to throw up from just drinking. Guess you gotta be in those shoes to know that feeling huh?

Yep, I have the same problem. Except with the water. I have no problem getting in my water. In fact sometimes I think I drink too much water. I can and have drank two gallons of tea/ crystal light and water in one day. I dont even count my water anymore. I am sure I dont do that every day but the increase of water is almost an obsession with me. Like use to I worked on getting in a three cup glass of water before every meal and now I want to get in two. And then I wait twenty minuetes before I can eat. I have days where I can hardly eat. so far today I have ate 4 ozs of yogurt with some pecans. And a bannana. I will have to work really hard the rest of the evening to get my protein in. And I will probable have to do a shake to get it in. My doc wants 45 protein, but only 6 ozs of meat, two servings of diary, two grains, two vegetables, and two fruits. Now mind you those are bariatric servings, But I still cant get all that in without it seems for me to be eating all the time. And if I get busy doing something. Hang it up we wont go there. How is your sugar level. Mine drops on occasion. Low. And I wasnt diabetic before sugar. But my PCP has diagnoised me as Hypoglycemic.
I have the same problem. I don't even make an effort to get all my water in. I don't eat enough so I am not getting in all my protein. As a result., I am not losing like I should and I have kidney stones. I think the answer to the water problem it to sip all the time so it trickles out of our pouch and never actually fills us up. In other words, don't do I as I do, do as I say. :)
When I eat more and drink more, I will drop a pound or two, otherwise I maintain.
Do you think there is a possibility that you have a minor stricture? You may want to consult your surgeon if you are throwing up from water. I wish you the best, Loris

I HAVENT BEEN THROWING UP WATER OR LIQUIDS, ITS JUST I AM SO FULL IT MAKES YA FEEL THAT WAY SOMETIMES. SO AM GONNA TRY MY BEST TO GET THE WATER IN, BUT FOOD IS ALSO AS IMPORTANT. I STILL CANT EAT ALOT OF MEATS SINCE SURGERY NO MATTER HOW I COOK THEM. PORK IS A FINE EXAMPLE AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON CHICKEN. IF ITS A THIGH , SOMETIMES... SO HAVE RESORTED TO CANNED THINGS AND ALOT OF SEAFOOD AND THEY ARE VERY LOW IN CALORIES AND THATS WHERE I FEEL I AINT GETTING IN ENOUGH CALORIES. SO AS EMERIL SAYS,,,, GONNA KICK IT UP A KNOTCH WITH PROTEIN POWDER,.,, LOL
