A BIG WOW - I'm Flying to Vegas!
I'm going to Vegas baby! I fly out next week for a quick, fun trip to see my beloved Air Force Falcons basketball team play University of Las Vegas. This is the first time I have flown for YEARS, mostly due to the fear of not fitting into the seat, or the seatbelt not being big enough.
But I'm taking a chance and made my reservations yesterday. I would hope that since I am at 266 I would fit a whole lot better than I did the last time I flew at the heavy weight of 340. At least I hope I fit!
This is such a huge deal for me - I feel like I have lived in fear for so long and I'm tired of that - I want to live my life completely, not slink away everytime I think I might be "embarrassed." this surgery has changed so much in my life, I'm just amazed.
I knew no one would understand this expect you fellow bariatric friends and just had to share. Thanks!
Going to Vegas and leaving me here in the snow -- what kind of friend are you?!
Seriously, you should fit in the seat just fine. Let us know how things go, even though the slogan is, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."
I totally relate to the "fear" thing.
Didn't I hear on the news that the Falcons beat BYU this season, or was I hallucinating?

Karma....What would life be without it? 250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!
hi pj
i sure know what you're talking about. i have to fly all the time for work, and it was such an awful experience at 463 lbs. my company would buy me two seats and i always had the extender, but it was still just horrible. other travelers treated me like crap -- i guess they thought if they spoke to me, they might have to sit beside me or something.
now, it is just a treat to fly! i'm just like everybody else! the first time i got brave enough to try the seat belt without the extender, and it fit...it was all i could do to not jump up and shout out the wonderful news to the whole plane!
have a wonderful trip!
