Food is grossing me out!!!
I had to force myself to drink/eat for the first 6-8 weeks. Nothing sounded good and nothing tasted good. But I knew I needed to get in liquids and protein, so I forced myself to do exactly what my doctor had ordered. I did eat/drink very slowly and listened to my pouch when it was full. The couple times when I misgauged how full I was, I vomited (yuck!). After doing that a couple times, I paid really close attention to my pouch and it' signals.
I have a friend who had the surgery last year; she had some pretty serious nausea issues and developed severe food aversion. She waited too long to check in with her doctor and it wound up taking a long time to get things turned around for her. She's just now starting to feel better and her surgery was last August.
I would encourage you to talk to your doctor, but you also need to work on changing how you're thinking about food; at this point, your body needs proteins and liquids so it can heal properly. So even if something doesn't sound good, as long as you can get it down and keep it down, drink up.
It does get easier and it does get better. You just have to get from now until then, which will be at least a few weeks from now. But it's manageable and doable!
Best of luck on your continuing journey
