I need Help

My insurance was the same way, didn't cover it. I took out money from my retirement - I took it out as a hardship, ,which they allowed, and don't have to pay it back. Not every company has this option, but most have the option to take a loan out on your 401K, and then you pay it back in your paycheck. It may be worth it to look into that.
Also, my Dr. had a finance company that they recommended for those who couldn't afford it, so you might want to check with your Dr. and see if they have any recommendations. I'm sure they are use to having patients do self-pay.
One thing you have to calculate is the possibility of complications - insurance won't cover that either. I was lucky and had a smooth surgery, but complications do happen and that increases your cost. Just be aware that it could happen and have a contingency plan in place for that possibility.
Hope this helps - keep us up to date on what is happening. I know it's stressful, believe me I went through a year of stress while in the process of fighting insurance and figuring out what to do. But it is worth it!
