Can't I have a normal week for a change?

Hello again,

How quickly things can change huh?  Sunday I was happy in the fact that I was going to be a Daddy in September and post-op in June.  Monday morning saw me and my wife in the ER because my wife had excessive bleeding.  Of course my wife and I were not only scared, but convinced that we were loosing our child.  My lack of faith was very apparent that day, because I was wrong.  The pregnancy is actually fine, at risk a little, but otherwise fine.  My wife was experiencing a subchorionic hematoma.  We were told that most likely this will resolve and the pregnancy will go full term, but nothing is certain.  Marcie is on a week’s bed rest to give the hematoma time to heal a bit.  Thank GOD!  The Dr. gave us an 80% chance of resolution which is good, but that also means a 20%chance of miscarriage.  We are optimistic and things do seem to be on the mend.

My surgery has been rescheduled for June 8th and is still on track as far as I know.

Richard, Rejoicing with you that your baby is still safe and growing, and that your wife should be healed soon.  I'm sure that Monday was a horribly trying day for both of you as you worried over this baby.   Glad to know that your surgery date is no longer in the fall, but moved to June.  You will be well on your way to a thinner and healtheir life by the time baby arrives!

Hi Richard, I am so glad your baby is doing well. I just had some bleeding myself and am now on bed rest. I was 33 weeks when it happened. It was so scary. I spent three days in the hospital. They wouldn't release me until it stopped.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date. Your going to be so happy. This was the best thing I ever did. Now I can be there for my son and will be able to play with him without being out of breath.

Take care and keep us posted.

Richard,  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife!  My girlfriend had the very same thing happen at work, and it turns out she was carrying twins, when they did the sonogram in the hospital they could actually see the empty hole that had once contained a fetus. She went on to carry the remaining child to full term and has a happy healthy little boy. Best wishes to you all!
